Sony  announces the launch of its latest BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 and BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9. T Sony’s new BRAVIA Theatre Bars are engineered to enrich the home viewing experience, bringing the magic of the big screen to the comfort of your living room. With the expansion of streaming services and the growing trend of home entertainment, the BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8, with 11 speaker units, and the Bar 9, with 13 speaker units, are set to transform your movie nights with exceptional sound quality and cutting-edge technology.

Utilizing Sony’s proprietary 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, multiple phantom speakers are generated in locations where there are no actual physical speakers, such as above or to the side. This enables a 360 spatial sound experience that is optimized for a specific home setting, with a wide sound field that surrounds you with audio from various directions, mirroring the cinema experience, without having to install physical speakers on the ceiling or walls. The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 and Bar 9 not only support industry-standard audio technologies, including Dolby Atmos® immersive audio and DTS®, but also have IMAX® Enhanced certification. Acoustic Center Sync integrates your sound system, such as a soundbar, with the TV so that the sound precisely matches the action on the screen, bringing a cinema-like setup home. In cinemas, speakers are placed directly behind the screen, which has numerous small holes, and the sound emitted from it is passed forward so that the dialogue and sounds overlap with the image projected onto the screen and are heard from the correct position.

Sony India starts its 8K journey with the Z8H 8K TV

Sony’s trusted brand quality shines in the new Z8H, which is their first 8K TV in India. This premium 8K Full Array LED TV, costs a whopping Rs. 13,99,990 and delivers some state-of-the-art features and a stylish design.

The Z8H’s Full Array 8K LED TV is available in the display size of 85” and it is powered by Sony’s most powerful processor yet – the Picture Processor X1 Ultimate. 2K and 4K content is upscaled to 8K through the 8K X-Reality PRO using an 8K database. Object-based Super Resolution and Object-Based HDR deliver greater depth, picture textures, better colour, and contrast.

In the new Z8H, zones of LED are lit independently and through the power of 8K X-tended Dynamic Range Pro which offers 14X XDR contrast, the output on the screen is much more vivid and enhances the viewing experience.

Sony launches ‘Ready for PlayStation 5’ X9000H TVs in India

PlayStation 5’s launch is a few months away and if you are looking to pair it up with the television meant for it, Sony India has just launched the Bravia X9000H series TVs.

Certified with ‘Ready for PlayStation 5’ tag, the TV comes with a dedicated Bravia Game mode that enables gamers to play in up to 4K resolution at 120fps and an input lag of 7.2ms. Moreover, the mode also allows to wake the TV and PS5 up at the same time with the DualSense controller.

Available in sizes of 55-inches and 65-inches, the TV is equipped with lots of video and audio enhancing features that high-end Sony TVs are known for. The TV comes with a full-array LED display and X-tended Dynamic range for improved contrast.

There’s X1 4K HDR picture processor, Triluminous display, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, acoustic multi audio with discreetly mounted tweeters and ambient optimisation that optimises picture and sound quality.

The X9000H runs on Android TV OS that gives access to voice-enabled Google Assistant, casting, Play Store apps, games and range of streaming services.

The X9000H is available now for Rs. 1,09,990 for the 55-inch TV and Rs. 1,59,990 for 65-inch variant.

Sony refreshes Bravia range with A9G and A8G

Sony has launched their new OLED TV series for the year at an event in the capital today. This includes two series in the Bravia range: A8G and A9G.

Billed as the successor to A9F from last year, Sony A9G is powered by the latest X1 Ultimate picture processor from the company. The chip controls 8 million self-illuminating pixels that can be dimmed and brightened individually for deeper blacks as well as more vibrant colours. The 4K OLED panels have a native resolution of 3840×2160 pixels coming with HDR10 and Dolby Vision support for HDR content. There is also a Netflix Calibrated mode that shows the colours of Netflix original shows as intended by the creators.

Coming to audio, A9G uses Acoustic Audio Surface+ that makes the screen vibrate to produce sound. This 2.2 channel setup features 20W+20W speakers plus 10W+10W subwoofers that produce very loud yet clear sound. It can also be paired with a home theater system making it act as the centre speaker. They also come with Dolby Atmos and DTS Digital sound. There are plenty of ports on the left side like eARC HDMI to connect the latest audio devices but they are positioned in a slightly inconvenient area.

Running on Android TV OS, Chromecast is built-in for casting from smartphones and Google Play Store can be accessed to download various apps or games. It can work with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple Airplay 2 and Homekit. Voicing AI commands doesn’t require the smart remote to be in the hand which can also control all the HDMI-connected devices. Bundled inside is a Flush Wall mount that makes the TV stick to the wall like a poster but it can also be extended and moved a bit to the side to adjust the viewing angle.

The A9G series is priced at Rs.2,69,900 for 55″ and Rs.3,69,900 for 65″ while A8G costs Rs.2,19,900 for 55″ and Rs.3,19,900 for 65″. A8G is currently being sold at all Sony retail stores, online and offline partners but A9G will be sold from 1 August 2019. Screen sizes larger than 65″ are slated to be coming soon.

Sony brings A9F Bravia OLED TV to India

Sony has a formidable range of OLED TVs in India but instead of resting on its laurels, they have now announced the A9F Bravia OLED, the first in the Master Series family.

Sony wants the picture to be the focus, which is why the A9F comes with a single-slate design. The front boasts the large 55-inch or the 65-inch screen with super slim bezel with the stand at the back that also hosts the speakers. Dubbed, Acoustic Surface Audio+, the TV gets an additional actuator in the center of the screen and an extra subwoofer channel, totaling to a 3.2 channel sound system for better audio experience.

The new A9F comes with the next-generation Picture Processor X1 Ultimate that takes HDR playback up a notch. The processor analyses each object in the picture through Sony’s new Object-based Super Resolution mechanism that results in a better picture quality and is further helped by the Pixel Contrast Booster that maximises the dynamic range by widening the area of colour reproduction at high brightness.

Interestingly, the TV comes with a Netflix Calibrated Mode that elevates the Netflix-viewing experience by optimising the colours and the contrast, which Sony reckons is perfect for binge watching.

Moreover, the A9F Bravia OLED runs Google’s Android TV 8 Oreo OS, voice search, and even supports Amazon’s Alexa or Google Home. 

The 55-inch KD-55A9F is priced at Rs. 3,99,990 and the KD-65A9F at Rs. 5,59,990. Both sizes will sell from September 20.
