Lenovo unveils Z6 Pro, K10 Note and A6 Note smartphones

Lenovo announced the release dates of 3 smartphones to be made available in the country soon. The list includes Lenovo Z6 Pro, Lenovo K10 Note and Lenovo A6 Note all targetting different segments.

Lenovo Z6 Pro is the top-end model that comes with a 6.39″ AMOLED display with HDR10. It has a 6th gen under display fingerprint sensor boasting of a increased recognition area, faster unlock support and ability to detect wet fingertips. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. The AI Enabled quad camera setup consists of a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.8 lens, 16MP wide angle lens, 8MP telephoto sensor and a 2MP sensor. On the side lies a ToF (Time of Flight) Fast Focus sensor. It is feature packed coming with PDAF, Hyper Video, Video Log, Super Macro, Super Wide Angle, Super Body, Dual Scene, Super Night Scene and more. On the front is a 32MP selfie snapper that is also capable of fast face unlock. The company has implemented a Coldfront liquid cooling system for better heat dissipation and management. The 4000mAh battery supports 27W fast charging as well as reverse charging.

The mainstream K10 Note sports a 6.3FHD+ screen with a waterdrop-style notch having a 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 450nits brightness. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. On the back next to the fingerprint sensor is a triple camera setup having a 16MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP secondary camera with 2x optical zoom and a 5MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture while a 16MP selfie snapper rests on the front. The 4050mAh battery can be fast charged by an 18W adapter bundled in the box.

The budget A6 Note bears a 6.09″ HD+ display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 88% screen-to-body ratio. Inside is a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. Coming to optics, there is a 13MP main sensor and 2MP secondary sensor on the rear and a 5MP selfie camera on the front. The 4000mAh battery can be topped up quickly using the bundled 10W fast charger.

Lenovo Z6 Pro is priced at Rs.33,999, Lenovo K10 Note costs Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM+64GB variant and Rs. 15,999 for the 6GB RAM+128GB option. Finally, the Lenovo A6 Note is the cheapest at Rs.7,999. All devices will be sold on Flipkart with Jio cashback offers of upto Rs.2,200.

Asus launches 3 new Vivobook laptops

Asus has launched a trinity of new VivoBook laptops at an event today. These include the VivoBook 14 X403, VivoBook 14 X409 and VivoBook 15 X509.

VivoBook 14 X403 (From Rs.54,990) is equipped with a 14″ FHD (1920×1080) display having 16:9 aspect ratio and 87% screen-to-body ratio with 4.1mm thin bezels on the side. It runs on the 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U processor paired with 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB PCIe Gen3 SSD storage. Integrated Intel HD 620 GPU handles the graphics while dual stereo speakers provide sound output. Coming in Silver Black, inside is a 4 cell 72Whr battery that the company claims to provide atleast 24 hours battery life. It has undergone MIL-STD-810G testing with the build perfectly capable of handling rough usage.

VivoBook 14 X409 (From Rs.32,990) packs a 14″ FHD (1920×1080) LED display with 77.5% screen-to-body ratio. There are two variants with the base model powered by 8th Gen Intel i3-7020U while the other uses an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U processor. Both come with a fingerprint sensor, 2-cell 32Whr battery, upto 12GB RAM, upto 512GB PCIe SSD or 1TB HDD, choice of Intel HD 620 or discrete Nvidia Geforce MX230 GPU. Transparent Silver and Slate Grey are the two available colour variants.

Finally, VivoBook X509 (From Rs.30,990) bears a 15.6″ (1920×1080) FHD LED display with 82% screen-to-body ratio. It comes in 3 variants with the base model using 8th Gen Intel Core i3-7020U, the mid version an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-8265U and the high end version an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8565U processor. The rest is identical to the X409 with a 2-cell 32Whr battery, upto 12GB RAM, upto 512GB PCIe SSD or 1TB HDD, choice of Intel HD 620 or discrete Nvidia Geforce MX230 GPU.

Samsonite and Panasonic present a smart, connected suitcase

Samsonite and Panasonic have partnered up to create a smart travel suitcase for the 24×7 connected traveller. Samsonite’s EVOA Tech suitcase has been equipped with Panasonic’s Seekit Bluetooth Tracker for keeping track of the luggage.

Based on Bluetooth v5.0 technology, the tracker comes with upto 14 functions. These include the Separation Indicator that keeps users informed if their luggage is around and are immediately notified if it gets separated. Next, Bi-directional Tracking helps consumers find their smartphone if the tracker button is pushed two times. Pressing it thrice sends an SOS alert to upto 3 contacts with their GPS location. The Seekit device also comes with a Selfie button for letting users click their selfies. With Proximity Guidance, users are guided towards their baggage while Find your Luggage helps identify their Samsonite luggage by tapping the buzz button on the app. In-app language support is available in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and English.

The EVOA Tech suitcase boasts of a 3-in-1 Smart Lock coming with a TSA-approved fingerprint lock that can record 10 fingerprints at a time, a 3-digit dial lock and USB port. Integrated into the side handle is a weighing scale that shows the weight in kilograms and a button on the side reverses the display direction so it can be read in any orientation. Devices like smartphones can be charged by plugging into the USB port. Further, an anti-theft zipper and aero track suspension wheels have been implemented.

Pricing has yet to be announced but the product will be launched in a phased manner in 18 countries including India.

Kodak introduces affordable 4KXPRO TV range

Kodak launched their new 4KXPRO TV range at an event in the capital today. The Super Plastronics Pvt. Ltd. (SPPL) manufactured range includes 3 sizes: 43 4KXPRO, 50 4KXPRO and 55 4KXPRO.

Powered by a Quad Core A53 CPU with 1GB ROM and 8GB storage, the televisions have a native 4K resolution (3840×2160) that . While the 43″ model has 450nits brightness, the 50″ and 55″ variants have 500nits brightness. They have a dynamic contrast ratio of 500000:1 and come with HDR10 support. Further, a 178 degree viewing angle and 6.5ms response time is touted by the company. A 12x2W stereo speaker setup provides sound and comes with Digital surround sound.

Running on Android Open Source Project 7.1.2, Kodak has implemented the Smart Wall for showing the available content in an intuitive way. Out of the box, the TVs come preloaded with Netflix, YouTube, Hotstar, ZEE5 and Voot with content available in 48 languages. Coming to connectivity, there are 3x HDMI, 2x USB and an RJ45 ethernet port.

The pricing of the range starts at Rs.22,499 for 43 4KXPRO, Rs.27,999 for 50 4KXPRO and Rs.31,999 for 55 4KXPRO. They will be sold exclusively on Flipkart from 1 September.

Anker announced the launch of its Powerport Wall Charger with 6 USB ports for the Indian market. The device supports fast charging technology and provides 60W power that enables simultaneous multi-device full speed charging through 6 ports. It comes with PowerIQ and Voltage Boost that are exclusive technologies combining to ensure the quickest possible charge upto 2.4amps per port or 12amps overall speed.

The charger is equipped with a Multi Protect Safety System that includes surge protection and temperature control to guard devices against overvoltage or heating up. The UL certified charger has been built with industry grade materials and premium circuitry that meet the rigorous safety standards of Underwriters Laboratories.

Available in Black and White (pictured below), Anker Powerport Wall Charger is priced at Rs.3,499. It is sold at leading retail and e-commerce stores across the country.
