Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. kickstarted its event, Snapdragon for India – XR Day, helping drive India’s spatial computing development. The event gathered some of India’s top technology experts, developers, industry partners, media representatives and creators, underscoring Qualcomm Technologies’ central role in driving India’s smart glasses and extended reality.

The event featured immersive demos and use cases showcasing cutting-edge innovations across entertainment, content capture, fitness, and education, highlighting the explosion of possibilities with spatial computing.
Taking the stage, Alex Katouzian, Group General Manager, Mobile, Compute & XR (MCX) at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. outlined how Snapdragon XR platforms, which have powered 100+ immersive devices globally, continue to deliver best-in-class experiences across mixed reality (MR), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR). These platforms are pivotal in ushering in a new era of next generation computing that is more immersive, intuitive, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. He emphasized the critical role that AI is playing in the growth opportunity for XR – enabling AI to see what you see and hear what you hear to enable personalized and intuitive experiences. On stage, Alex demonstrated a SLM (small language model) running completely on a pair of AI glasses, showing the versatility of Snapdragon platforms to run AI across the cloud, local and on-device solutions.
As a part of the vision, Qualcomm Technologies is powering smart glasses being developed by partners like Lenskart, with Snapdragon chipsets. This move reflects a concerted effort to bringing cutting-edge, AI-enabled smart eyewear solutions to Indian consumers.
