Hikvision Reveals TandemVu PTZ Cameras

April 4, 2022 by Sweta Baruah

Hikvision has launched its new TandemVu PTZ camera range, which integrates PTZ and bullet camera capabilities into a single unit. The cameras allow security teams to continue monitoring large areas with no interruptions, while simultaneously zooming in to monitor specific security incidents that occur.

7C series

The cameras provide high-definition imaging with 2 x 4MP lenses and a super-wide view of 180°. Its bullet unit features Hikvision’s ColorVu technology, which provides full-colour imaging, while its PTZ unit employs Hikvision DarkFighter technology that enables HD colour images down to 0.0005 Lux. Engineered with AI, the cameras can differentiate between moving objects such as falling leaves, heavy rain or animals. They can also, reportedly, differentiate between vehicles and people and use smart linkages to check on trespassers as they move within the PTZ coverage. The cameras boast of advanced security, owing to its AI chipset that allows deep learning algorithms available for complex scenarios, including automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), facial recognition and multi-target-type detection, among others. They use sound and light alarms that warn would-be trespassers before they enter a site or building. Hikvision reports that the cameras reduce installation, configuration and maintenance costs.

8C series

The latest devices have been grouped into two product families viz. the SF8C series and the SE7C series. The SF8C series provides two bullet lenses with 180° panoramic view, come with ColorVu technology, incorporate AI algorithms and offer 42x optical zoom capabilities. The SE7C series features one bullet lens, come with ColorVu and AcuSense technologies and support up to 32x optical zoom.

Hikvision’s AcuSense raises the bar for AI security systems

October 10, 2021 by T3 India

To allow homeowners and SME organisations breathe a sigh of relief, Hikvision’s AcuSense solutions strive to harness the power of AI to provide much more effective security. The technology is being claimed to revolutionise security for owners with better speeds, ability to help save costs, and upgraded AI features.

In their press release, Hikvision has highlighter 3 ways that AcuSense technology is upping the game in AI security:

  • AcuSense technology supports faster and more effective responses to security incidents through real-time alarms triggered and relayed to the owner’s mobile/smartphone devices, allowing them to respond as quickly as possible in the case of a security breach. This way, the owners can minimise the damages and losses, ad can also prevent severe repercussions.

Another added benefit includes the built-in sound and strobe alarms that are designed to startle the intruders and perpetrators when they enter restricted areas.

  • AcuSense technology can differentiate between humans and vehicles, and other moving objects such as animals, falling leaves, or rain. Through enhanced computer vision abilities, Hikvision’s AcuSense technology minimises false positives and alerts owners only in the event of real security threats.

Footage of incidents can be found very quickly and easily through ‘tags’ added to the video timeline every time a person or vehicle appears in the camera view, thus eliminating the time for manual video searches which is time-consuming to say the least.

  • Hikvision’s AcuSense technology is versatile in the sense that it can be deployed in a range of settings – in residences, warehouses, factories, and other restricted areas. Hikvision has been at the forefront of providing security solutions and its cameras, NVRs, and DVRs are easy to deploy too as they all use similar mounting and configuration processes. The Motion Detection 2.0 function is turned on by default – which means that accurate human and vehicle detection can be done without any configuration.

Users can also deploy AcuSense-enabled NVRs to their existing cameras to take advantage of the new, AI-powered security features. “For the very first time, AcuSense technology from Hikvision is bringing the power of AI security to homeowners and SMEs. That means customers in this important market can now boost their security and respond to incidents faster, while also saving time and reducing their workloads and costs,” says Kevin You, Product Management Director at Hikvision.

Hikvision Launches Solar-Powered Security Camera System

April 27, 2021 by Sujith Gopinath

Hikvision has introduced a solar-powered security camera solution for remote, rural and temporary sites. The setup does not require fixed power or network cables on site.

All kinds of remote and rural sites require constant security monitoring, from farms and fisheries to forestry operations, oil and gas pipelines, and even national parks. The problem is that these kinds of sites are frequently ‘off-grid’, lacking the power and fixed network connectivity needed to deploy security monitoring cameras.

As an additional challenge, many sites have only temporary security requirements, making the cost of deploying ‘fixed’ cameras prohibitive. This is the case for open-air music festivals, political rallies, and many other events. Meeting security requirements at these kinds of remote and temporary sites requires a new kind of ‘standalone’ solution: one that can operate independently, without physical connections to either the energy grid or to a fixed network. Additionally, standalone solutions should be fast and simple to deploy, highly durable to withstand the most adverse weather conditions, and affordable enough to meet the needs of all kinds of remote sites and operations.

Hikvision’s Solar-powered Security Camera Setup uses a 40Watt photovoltaic panel and a highly durable 20Ah rechargeable Lithium battery to power a Hikvision EXIR Fixed Bullet Solar Power 4G Network Camera. Because the Solar-powered Security Camera Setup uses solar power and includes a Micro SIM card for connectivity with the 4G network, there is no need for fixed power or network cables on site.  Additionally, operators can monitor, review, and store footage remotely, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The solution can be rolled out in hours – with very little need for ongoing maintenance or support.

The Hikvision EXIR 4G Network Camera offers high-resolution imaging (1920 x 1080 pixels @ 30 fps). Additionally, the camera provides very clear images even where strong back-light exists due to Hikvision’s 120 dB true Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology. The product employs a battery management system in its 20Ah Lithium battery, which ensures the optimal use of the battery energy. With its smart power management features, the Solar-powered Security Camera Setup provides up to 7 days of operation during cloudy or rainy periods when fully charged. Its 4G camera further adds a 32GB eMMC (embedded Multimedia Card) besides the SD card, this ensures continuous video recording when there is an anomaly with the SD card or the network environment. Additionally, the self-sufficient unit is waterproof (accredited to the IP67 standard), and windproof (with a hurricane rating of 12).

A single person can install the solution at remote sites, making the process fast, easy, and cost-effective, thanks to its lightweight design. The pole-mounted unit weighs just 14 kg, and there are no complex cables to connect.
