Poco F2 Pro holds promise in high-performance and speed

May 13, 2020 by T3 India

Poco has announced their second device after its spin-off from Xiaomi a few months ago. The Poco F2 Pro is now a reality and brings in top-of-the-line performance at a competitive price. Prices start at 499 Euros (no Indian pricing or availability yet) but Poco F2 Pro epitomises the direction every smartphone brand is heading towards – which is to launch phones with high-end specs and disrupt the momentum of brands in a higher segment.

The F2 Pro is powered by the well-acquainted Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, which is also deemed to be the most powerful 5G processor out there. More so, the phone has the Adreno 650 GPU integrated and to the delight of all gamers, the Poco F2 Pro has a z-axis haptic feedback mechanism through a motor and is also ‘TUV Rheinland High Gaming Performance’ certified, which does corroborate Poco’s claim of F2 Pro’s sustained peak performance.

The Poco F2 Pro is available in two RAM/ROM variants – the 6GB (LPDDR4X) +128GB and the 8GB (LPDDR5) +256GB, with the latter costing 599 Euros. With the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back for better protection, the Poco F2 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ display offering a resolution of 2400×1080 (20:9 aspect ratio), a brightness of up to 800 nits and support to the HDR10+ technology.

The F2 Pro’s camera is a significant upgrade compared to the Poco F1 as it consists of a rear quad-cam setup with a 64MP main camera – built with a Sony IMX686 sensor opening up to an aperture of f/1.89 – a 123-degree 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, 5MP tele-macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It also has the cheeky drop-protected 20MP pop-up camera in the front which impressively supports 120fps front slow motion.

The rear cameras, however, seem to have impressive video-shooting capabilities. Poco seemed to have gone all out by enabling the cameras to record 8K videos at 24fps and 4K videos at 60fps. We can imagine content creators simply loving modes like Video Bokeh, ShootSteady, Night mode 2.0, Vlog and Cinematic modes.

The Poco F2 Pro has a 4700mAh battery and is equipped with a 30W wired fast charge taking a little over an hour to reach full charge.

Poco F2 Pro will be available in colour options of Neon Blue, Electric Purple, Phantom White and the Cyber Grey, with the latter two coming with Anti-glare matte finish.
