Sony India starts its 8K journey with the Z8H 8K TV

Sony’s trusted brand quality shines in the new Z8H, which is their first 8K TV in India. This premium 8K Full Array LED TV, costs a whopping Rs. 13,99,990 and delivers some state-of-the-art features and a stylish design.

The Z8H’s Full Array 8K LED TV is available in the display size of 85” and it is powered by Sony’s most powerful processor yet – the Picture Processor X1 Ultimate. 2K and 4K content is upscaled to 8K through the 8K X-Reality PRO using an 8K database. Object-based Super Resolution and Object-Based HDR deliver greater depth, picture textures, better colour, and contrast.

In the new Z8H, zones of LED are lit independently and through the power of 8K X-tended Dynamic Range Pro which offers 14X XDR contrast, the output on the screen is much more vivid and enhances the viewing experience.

As expected, Sony’s Z8H is also certified to be ‘Ready for PlayStation 5’. The next generation of gaming can be experienced in all its glory due with 4K at 120fps, and the Bravia Game Mode for low-latency gaming.

The 8K TV runs on Google’s Android TV OS that brings access to various OTT apps like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+ Hotstar, and is also integrated with Google’s voice assistant. Z8H is also compatible with Apple AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.

The vibrant colours and deep contrast produced through the ‘Triluminos’ display can be experienced fully as the TV can we viewed effectively from the sides as well, owing to the X-Wide Angle technology in it.

The Z8H also, produces superior audio through the ‘Acoustic Multi-Audio’ which includes a vibrating frame tweeter and a speaker, built-in Dolby Atmos and S-Force Front Surround technology.

The Bravia Z8H has thin narrow aluminium bezel and it comes with a premium-looking backlit remote where the light turns on automatically when picked up in the dark. Also, it consists of a built-in microphone which is used for voice-controlled commands.

The new Z8H is available across all Sony retail stores and the Sony Center online portal.

Samsung unveil world’s first QLED 8K range

Samsung announced the launch of the ‘world’s first QLED 8K TV’ in India at an event in the capital. The Korean headquartered company is targetting luxury homes with their offering who want the latest technology and are ready to pay for it.

The main highlight of the 8K range is their real 8K resolution (7680×4320) coupled with 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum HDR and the new Quantum Processor 8K. The 8K AI upscaling is powered by proprietary Quantum Processor 8K ensuring that content from any source be it HDMI, USB, gaming console or Set-Top Box will be upscaled in native 8K resolution regardless of the original source resolution. This will be very helpful as right now there are not too many native 8K videos out there.

Voice commands are supported that enable consumers to control their TV from across the room. An OTA update will enable Far Field voice capability on the TV remote so it doesn’t have to be close to the user to register voice commands. The bundled no-gap wall mount and a single discreet cable help in making it blend in with the home interior. A special Ambient Mode turns it into an art piece akin to a painting that is hanging on the wall.

The QLED 8K range will be available in four sizes: 65″ (TBA), 75″ (Rs. 10,99,900), 82″ (Rs. 16,99,900) and 98″ (Rs.59,99,900). The largest model will be made to order and not kept in stock for ready buying. Additionally, the existing QLED lineup has also been refreshed with Q90 (65″ : Rs.3,99,00) , Q80 (55″ : Rs.2,09,900 and 65″ : Rs.6,49,900), Q70 (55″ : Rs.1,69,900 and 65″ : Rs.2,79,900) and Q60 (43″ : Rs.94,900 and 82″ : Rs.7,49,900). These models will be made available for purchase in the coming weeks.
