One of the giants in the audio industry, Audio-Technica, have launched the AT2040 which is a Hyper Cardioid Dynamic Podcast microphone which is capable of reproducing high-quality audio. The AT2040 is also priced at Rs. 9,500 which is an affordable range for serious enthusiasts and content creators.
The AT2040 features a rugged all-metal design and it ‘excels at isolated/up-close vocal reproduction’. The AT2040 strips off unwanted room noise from the reproduced audio through its hyper cardioid polar pattern and specially-designed shock mount which attenuates vibration from a boom arm or mic stand.
The AT2040 mic’s multistage windscreen uses a nonwoven filter with foam mesh to provide a high-quality pop filtering. The microphone’s XLR output is compatible with a conventional analog mic input, and thus, it can be used with devices ranging from USB audio interfaces to professional mixing consoles. Along with a soft protective pouch, the mic comes with a pivoting stand mount and a 5/8-inch-27 to 3/8-inch-16 threaded adapter.
In the press release, Robin Ghose, Business Development Manager (Professional and Consumer) at Audio-Technica India, remarks, “In addition to being the microphone of choice of professionals at major sporting and music events across the globe, Audio-Technica microphones have been embraced by streamers, YouTubers and other content creators over the years.
