Vu launches Cinema TV with Pixelium Glass technology

Made for OTT content binge-watchers and movie buffs, Vu, this week launched the Vu Cinema TV. The 4K UHD Cinema TV, like its name suggests, offers an enhanced cinema-like experience with a refined and impressive audio system comprising of a 40W Tweeter and Soundbar along with the Dolby support.

The Vu Cinema TV features Vu’s high-performance optical panel with Pixelium Glass Technology that enhances light reflection by 40% and brightness of 500 nits.

For all those who hate typing on smart TVs, the Cinema TV also comes with a brand new ActiVoice remote that supports Google Assistant allowing you to control the TV via voice.

Vu Cinema TV strives to give the viewers a captivating theatre-like audio-visual performance. It supports streaming of premium content from partners like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play and Hotstar through the 5 Hotkeys on their new ActiVoice remote. Adding to the list of impressive features, the Cinema TV also allows the users to cast from Apple iPhones, Windows and Android devices including Google Chromecast.

Moreover, Vu Cinema TV comes with Vu Help Mode which consists tutorials, FAQs and a 24×7 customer service helpline. The Vu Cinema TV is available in 3 variants: the 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch priced at Rs. 26,999, Rs. 29,999 and Rs. 33,999 respectively; and will be available on Amazon from 18th January, 2020.

Vu refreshes its TV range, now comes with VOD upscaler technology

VU has announced a refresh of its TV range that features VOD Upscaler for improved picture and audio quality.

Vu says content from Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime and few more are shot with state-of-the-art equipment and the new technology combined with machine learning algorithm and DSP helps to deliver a much better viewing experience.

While the technology does not necessarily upscale the resolution but focuses on the colours, contrast and audio.

Currently, three lines of VU TVs come with this tech – Pixelight, UltraSmart and the Premium Android series.

The first two series feature panels ranging from full HD to 4K and run Vu’s proprietary OS based on Linux. The Premium Android series is an upgrade to the last year’s variant with official Android OS, better design and Dolby Vision support. Interestingly, all the models support Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube.

The pricing of the TVs are as follows:

Vu UltraSmart TV: 32” (Rs. 14,500), 40” (Rs. 21,000), 49” (Rs. 31,000)
Vu Pixelight TV: 43” (Rs. 30000), 50” (Rs39000), 55” (Rs. 42000), 65” (Rs. 66000)
Vu Premium Android TV: 43” (Rs. 35,000), 50” (Rs.41,000), 55” (Rs.47,000), 65” (Rs.72,000)

Vu announces their first officially licensed Android TV in India

Vu has added another TV series to their portfolio in the form of the new Google Android TV at an event in Bangalore today. It is the first Google-licensed TV in India to be running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and while we don’t have a timeline, Vu has confirmed it will also be upgradable to the next version.

Sporting a Piano Black design, the TV houses an A+ Grade IPS Panel with 4K upscaling and 450nits brightness. Additionally, it has a high bright mode, pixel mapping, MPEG noise reduction and smooth motion control. The built-in soundbar (10W+10W) supports DTS TruSurround and Dolby Digital audio playback. Powering the Smart TV is a quad-core processor, 16GB internal storage and 2.5GB RAM. There are 3x HDMI and 2x USB ports for wired connectivity.

The TV bundles two remotes, a regular infrared one and a Bluetooth one, which is voice-enabled allowing for complete voice navigation with the voice search feature working even within apps. It is pre-loaded with cast support, Hotstar, Netflix and YouTube as well as full access to Google Play ecosystem.

The TV series is available in 3 sizes: 43-, 49- and 55-inches and are priced at Rs. 36,999, Rs. 46,999 and Rs. 55,999 respectively.

Vu’s new Quantum Pixelight LED TV promises a rich viewing experience

After releasing the previous Pixelight and PremiumSmart series Televisions in September last year, VU has unveiled the new Quantum Pixelight LED TV. This new Ultra HD series targets the high end market segment.

It has a premium pure metal industrial design featuring a Quantum Pixelight Optical Layer. This technology is a combination of special optical material and multiple backlight zones control. The panel has 1500nits brightness with the LED focusing on colour and contrast. Audio output is enhanced by 55,000 sound holes to ensure crystal clarity. The smart TV supports 4K streaming and has one touch access to Netflix via the remote control.

Commenting on the launch, Devita Saraf, Founder & CEO, Vu said, “The Vu Quantum Pixelight LED TV that we have just launched has been designed for the luxury customer of today, who doesn’t settle for anything less than the best. It promises the most luxurious viewing experience with its vibrant picture quality, outstanding sound and beautiful design.”

The VU Quantum Pixelight LED TV starts at Rs.2,60,000 for the 65″ model going upto 4,00,000 for the 75″ model.
