vivo Introduce Y100 smartphone

vivo, today expanded its Y-series portfolio with the launch of Y100 in India. vivo Y100 is the first Y-series smartphone to feature the unique colour-changing Fluorite AG glass rear panel in a premium thin and light weight body design. The smartphone features a 64MP OIS Anti-Shake Camera, 44W Flashcharge with a 4500 mAh battery.

Y100 is the first vivo smartphone to come with two colour-changing variants- Pacific Blue and Twilight Gold along with a third metal black colour option. The smartphone is priced at INR 24,999 for 8GB+128GB variant and will be available starting today on Amazon, Flipkart, vivo India e-store and across all partner retail stores. Consumers can also avail cashback of up to INR 1500 from Kotak Mahindra, HDFC, ICICI and SBI.

Commenting on the launch, Yogendra Sriramula, Head of Brand Strategy, vivo India, said, “Continuing with the philosophy of vivo blending art and technology, we are delighted to expand our Y-series portfolio and introduce the all-new vivo Y100. With this smartphone, we are bringing our premium innovations, such as the colour-changing technology, 64MP OIS Anti-Shake Camera to the Y-series. Our aim with the Y100 is to equip our young, tech-savvy consumers with a smartphone that complements their style and empowers them with industry-leading technology.”

The smartphone features a 6.38-inch AMOLED Display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 360Hz High touch sampling rate and HDR10+ certification. The smartphone with 7.73 mm ultra-thin body weighs a mere 181g, which allows it to offer a light grip and great in-hand experience.  

vivo Y100 brings a 64MP OIS Triple camera setup that makes it easy for the users to give life to their stories. It also offers an ultra-stable vlog movie mode, making video recording and content creation a lot more simpler. vivo Y100 also comes with multiple camera features such as Bokeh Flair portrait, double exposure, flash portrait, etc, which makes sure every picture clicked stands out.

The 6nm advanced process chipset makes battery life longer and power consumption lower. vivo Y100 also comes with UFS 2.2 and brings 8GB of additional RAM with an Extended RAM 3.0 feature that makes switching between apps faster and smoother. The all-new Y100 smartphone comes with the latest FunTouch OS 13 based on Android 13, out of the box.

Realme Unveils Budget-friendly Smartphone

Realme has introduced a new addition to its entry-level C series family with the realme C35, an entry-level smartphone.

Commenting on the launch, Madhav Sheth, CEO Realme India, VP, Realme, and President, Realme International Business Group said, “We are thrilled to unveil the newest member of our C series smartphones as we continue our quest to become the world’s most popular smartphone brand. Realme’s entry-level C series has received a staggering response from our users and expanded to a family of 32 million users globally. Our newest member in the series is a new all-rounder in this segment, offering a remarkable combination of performance, camera and design in the entry-level segment, and we are confident that the Realme C35 will help us take this segment much further.”

The device is equipped with a 50MP AI Triple Camera and includes a primary camera with a 50MP image sensor with a wide area and an f/1.8 large aperture, a Macro Lens, a B&W lens and an 8MP Selfie camera with Sony Sensor. It features a new right-angle bezel design that is 8.1 mm thick and weighs 189 g. The smartphone is equipped with Unisoc T616 powerful processor, scoring 230,726 on AnTuTu benchmarks. It is an octa-core 12nm processor that clocks up to 2.0 GHz and adopts Cortex A75 structure. It also comes with a First FHD 6.6-inches screen in the Realme C series, 5000 mAh battery which can be charged with an 18W Type-C Quick Charge that comes in the box. It also comes with an instant fingerprint sensor and TÜV Rheinland High-Reliability Certification. According to the company, this is the first smartphone in the C series to include Dynamic RAM Expansion(DRE) technology.

The smartphone will be available in two storage variants, 4GB+64GB priced at INR 11,999 and 4GB+128GB priced at INR 12,999 and will be available in two colours, i.e. Glowing Black and Glowing Green. It is expected to go on sale starting March 12, on realme.com, Flipkart.com and mainline channels.

Lava Offers You a Chance to Design the Next Indian Smartphone

Indian mobile handset brand, Lava International Limited, has announced the launch of the second season of its ‘Design in India’ (DII) challenge. Lava’s DII contest invites entries for designing the next Indian smartphone. The contest is open to students and working professionals either presently pursuing or graduated in B.Tech/B.E., Bachelors in Design Program or Masters in Design Program from any institute across India in select specialisations. The registrations will be open from 15th August to 25th August 2021.

Talking about the contest, Tejinder Singh, Head – Product, Lava International said, “As the nation focusses on Atmanirbhar Bharat, the telecom industry can play a pivotal role in facilitating this mission. India has a fantastic talent pool waiting to be tapped. Through the ‘Design in India’ challenge, Lava seeks to offer the country’s youth and other talented professionals a platform to showcase their skills for this nation-building process. Therefore, Lava’s call for entries offers them an excellent opportunity to showcase their creative skills by providing fresh perspectives in our endeavour to come up with the best smartphone prototype for the country.”

Registrations will be via Lava’s website, using the team leader’s email ID and mobile number. Students/professionals can participate in a team with a minimum of one and a maximum of three members. Any plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification of the team.

The contest will be conducted in three rounds – ideation, prototype creation and presentation to the jury. After registering, eligible candidates will receive an email intimation and gain portal access to submit a solution according to predetermined timelines. All submissions will be evaluated by a panel comprising Lava International’s senior leaders. The top 10 teams will then be shortlisted for the Prototype development round.

In round two, the top 10 teams will submit functional Smartphone prototypes/plans. The five top teams will be shortlisted for Round three – the Finale. Teams will be judged on three parameters – creativity, functionality and uniqueness. The final five teams will present their ideas to a panel constituting of Lava’s senior leadership. Sanjeev Agarwal, Chief Manufacturing Officer – Lava International will head the judging panel.

At the competition’s culmination, the top three winning teams will receive a pre-placement interview opportunity at Lava. They will also be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000, respectively.

Lava’s Design in India initiative is powered by MediaTek.
