Kickstarter’s success story Nextbit Robin has gotten an official launch date and price for the Indian market. The fully plastic device runs on a nearly untouched Android OS with the power key doubling up as a fingerprint scanner. The front-facing speakers of the Robin enjoy a boost with audio enhancements by Arkamys.
The USP of the device is undoubtedly the 100GB cloud storage. The phone backs up apps to the cloud when it’s connected to a Wi-Fi connection to reduce mobile data costs. The aggressive micromanagement of space on the smartphone ensures that unused data and apps are moved to the cloud to make way for their newer brethren. It’s important to note that user data is always stored on the Robin.
Pre-booking has begun for Robin, which will be available exclusively on Flipkart from 30 May at a price of Rs 19,999, .
