POCO enters the entry-level segment with POCO C3

October 9, 2020 by T3 India

The celebrations of the coming festive period may not be as extensive as previous ones but it certainly calls for the occasion of spending wisely. The new POCO C3, according to us, is a great contender to be one the most striking entry-level smartphones out there because it offers so much at a very reasonable price.

The POCO C3 starts at a price of Rs. 7,499 and is powered by the 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio G35 8-core processor with Cortex-A53 cores. Along with a 6.53” HD+ display offering a resolution of 1600×720, the POCO C3 also comes with a large 5000mAh battery with a unique Better Battery 2.0 technology.

The POCO C3 also has an impressive camera-setup for its range. It is equipped with three cameras in the rear, with a 13MP main camera, 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. The C3 is also capable of shooting macro videos in a 720p resolution. The C3 also houses a 5MP front camera.

Running on the new MIUI 12, which is built on Android 10, the POCO C3 is protected by the P2i nano-coating, which “makes the smartphone resistant to accidental splashes”. Stress on the user’s eyes is reduced as the display is also reading-mode certified by TUV Rheinland.

The POCO C3 is available in two RAM/ROM variants: the 3GB+32GB and the 4GB+64GB which cost Rs. 7,499 and Rs. 8,999 respectively. Both variants will be available from 16th October 2020 on Flipkart in Arctic Blue, Lime Green, and Matte Black colours.

The POCO C3 offers a great deal of features for its price and is a great introductory smartphone to watch out for during this festive season.

Poco F2 Pro holds promise in high-performance and speed

May 13, 2020 by T3 India

Poco has announced their second device after its spin-off from Xiaomi a few months ago. The Poco F2 Pro is now a reality and brings in top-of-the-line performance at a competitive price. Prices start at 499 Euros (no Indian pricing or availability yet) but Poco F2 Pro epitomises the direction every smartphone brand is heading towards – which is to launch phones with high-end specs and disrupt the momentum of brands in a higher segment.

The F2 Pro is powered by the well-acquainted Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, which is also deemed to be the most powerful 5G processor out there. More so, the phone has the Adreno 650 GPU integrated and to the delight of all gamers, the Poco F2 Pro has a z-axis haptic feedback mechanism through a motor and is also ‘TUV Rheinland High Gaming Performance’ certified, which does corroborate Poco’s claim of F2 Pro’s sustained peak performance.

The Poco F2 Pro is available in two RAM/ROM variants – the 6GB (LPDDR4X) +128GB and the 8GB (LPDDR5) +256GB, with the latter costing 599 Euros. With the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back for better protection, the Poco F2 Pro is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ display offering a resolution of 2400×1080 (20:9 aspect ratio), a brightness of up to 800 nits and support to the HDR10+ technology.

The F2 Pro’s camera is a significant upgrade compared to the Poco F1 as it consists of a rear quad-cam setup with a 64MP main camera – built with a Sony IMX686 sensor opening up to an aperture of f/1.89 – a 123-degree 12MP ultra wide-angle camera, 5MP tele-macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. It also has the cheeky drop-protected 20MP pop-up camera in the front which impressively supports 120fps front slow motion.

The rear cameras, however, seem to have impressive video-shooting capabilities. Poco seemed to have gone all out by enabling the cameras to record 8K videos at 24fps and 4K videos at 60fps. We can imagine content creators simply loving modes like Video Bokeh, ShootSteady, Night mode 2.0, Vlog and Cinematic modes.

The Poco F2 Pro has a 4700mAh battery and is equipped with a 30W wired fast charge taking a little over an hour to reach full charge.

Poco F2 Pro will be available in colour options of Neon Blue, Electric Purple, Phantom White and the Cyber Grey, with the latter two coming with Anti-glare matte finish.

April 8, 2020 by T3 India

Known for their value smartphones, the Chinese smartphone brand Poco announced that it’s going to be launching new true-wireless (TWS) earphones in India soon. By doing so, Poco are taking a step towards diversifying their product range, as this would be the first device launched which is not a smartphone.

Poco decided through their virtual fan meet amidst the lockdown on March 30, 2020. The meet, which saw over 500 people participate, was an efficient way of Poco trying to engage with their customers and admirers.

During the meet, Poco’s general manager, Mr. C Manmohan, ran a poll on Twitter asking the participants which product would the fans like to see next. The highest votes went to TWS earphones, with over 38% of the voters sharing a likeability towards them.
