myAudi Connect is Audi India’s new and updated app encompassing ‘all things Audi’

Armed with a new interface, and features delving into augmented reality, Audi India has launched a new app that would be of use to Audi customers, fans, and enthusiasts. The ‘myAudi Connect’ app is a seemingly impressive strategy by the German automobile heavyweight to digitalise all the information into one app on the phone that would otherwise be available at showrooms and websites.

The myAudi Connect app features functions like a ‘login’ for Audi Club India members, enabling purchase of Audi merchandise through payment gateways, exclusive offers from Audi Concierge – a helpdesk that caters to any request beyond the car and other elements that connect the vehicle to provide real-time analysis.

The app is divided into five key subheadings: Safety & Security, Driver’s Behaviour, Lifestyle, Geo Location, and Utility.

Under ‘Safety & Security’, the app enables users to: get roadside assistance, utilize SOS features like saving and contacting emergency contacts, know boundary and curfew alerts, and get disturbance alerts.

The ‘Driver’s Behaviour’ section, the app helps users receive information on trip analysis, hard braking, hard accelerations, sharp turns, idling alert and gamification. Impressively, the ‘Geo Location’ feature provides features such as car finder, tow alerts, and live location.

Users can also engage and book services, view service history, and learn about vehicle health through the ‘Utility’ section.

Additionally, non-Audi customers get access to Augmented Reality, detailed product brochures, placing test-drive requests, and the helpdesk to seek any further information on Audi products and services.

IIT-Bombay alumnus has launched ‘Sense.Bio’: an all-round wellness app built around the ‘new normal’

Sense.bio is an IoT-based fitness and health application that encompasses all for one’s wellness. Designed around the fact that now the new norms of being socially distant from individuals and healthcare systems are being slowly accepted, sense.bio offers the users and their families a holistic solution to take care of their physical being from the palm of their hands.

Offering a variety of features within just one app, sense.bio enables users to track their fitness regime by logging in their activities, steps, calories, ingredients, and also measurements like BMI and weight. Adjusting to the user’s access to equipment, sense.bio also recommends workout and diet plans.

It also helps users make sure that their vitals are in check, as sense.bio tracks heart rates, respiration rates, oxygen levels, and blood pressure through the smartphone. Reminders to take the necessary pills along with tracking the water intake and the user’s preferences in food items are also accounted for. The app looks to be a controlling and a visual health-checking diary, with the ability to also understand the user’s habits, routines, and ailments.

Playfit app brings improved UI in a new update

Play, an Indian brand specialising in wearables like fitness bands, smartwatches and wireless audio recently released a new software update to enhance the Playfit app that talks to all its wearables.

The software update primarily includes improved UI, in addition to a feature to add exercises to your regime and an upgraded sleep and exercise tracker. Like many other wearables of different brands that could be connected to their respective fitness-based tracking apps, the Playfit app – which is available on Android and the iOS – tracks a host of fitness activities like walking, running, and more, along with tracking other common functions like sleep patterns, modes and duration.

Play have also added a virtual leaderboard on the Playfit app where they users can track their progress and compare their statistics to 99 other members in the same category or activity. Play also guarantees the historical data to be saved, thereby enabling users to access all their previous progress (recorded on an older Play device) on their new Play device.

Apple will virtually host its Worldwide Developers Conference from June 22, 2020

This is the 31st year of Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and this year, even with restrictions due to the pandemic, Apple estimates that this will be their biggest conference yet, virtually bringing together approximately 23 million developers across the globe. The WWDC20 will begin in June 22, 2020, and it’s going to be hosted for a week on the Apple Developer Website and in the Apple Developer app – and it’s free of cost for all developers.

Developers around the globe and at Apple indulge in creating breakthroughs by conjuring apps in the iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS and the iPadOS. Apple have also announced a ‘Swift Student Challenge” which is a fantastic platform for student developers to flaunt their skills and talent in coding by creating their own Swift playground – which is an app on the iPad and Mac that has interactive and fun tutorials on the Swift programming language.

“We can’t wait to see this next generation of innovative thinkers turn their ideas into a reality through the Swift Student Challenge”, says Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior VP of Software Engineering.

Student developers who wish to participate can do so by submitting their entries to the Swift Student Challenge until 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 17, 2020.
