Micromax unveiled their latest offering, the Canvas Infinity at an event in the capital today. This is the first smartphone from the company to feature an edge-to-edge display.
Thanks to the 18:9 aspect ratio, Micromax has managed to fit a 5.7″ display into an ergonomic form factor more commonly associated with smaller devices. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage expandable upto 128GB via microSD. The 2900mAh battery is capable of offering talk time of 20 hours and upto 420 hours of standby time. The 16MP front camera has received special attention as it comes with f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, selfie flash and real time bokeh effect. The 13MP rear camera is equipped with f/2.0 aperture and flash.
The device is running on Android Nougat 7.1.2 OS with the company promising that the Oreo update is coming soon. Micromax also announced a 24 hour service promise to repair or replace the device at Micromax Express service centres.
Canvas Infinity is priced at Rs.9,999 and will be sold exclusively on Amazon India from 1 September 2017 starting from 12pm. Registrations for the sale have already begun.
