LG Electronics Unmask MAGNIT

January 14, 2023 by Gandhi Mathi

LG Electronics (LG)  announces the launch of the latest version of LG MAGNIT, a premium Micro LED. LG MAGNIT offers visuals that make the viewing experience memorable.

LG MAGNIT comes with Full Black Coating technology which delivers much deeper black than the conventional package LED signage. This enhances the color vividness and makes the details which were hidden in the shadows appear, providing audiences a sense of immersion.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Hemendu Sinha (Sr. VP and Business Head, Business Solutions) from LG Electronics said, “LG is always looking for ways to make work easier, more accessible, and more convenient. LG MAGNIT represents yet another step towards providing a comprehensive solution for offices. LG MAGNIT will offer users a variety of ways to work, interact, and entertain themselves. We are confident that this will be a game changer, thus, effortlessly transitioning the lives of the customers to the new ways.”

LG MAGNIT provides superbly high contrast ratio which is a vital part of the picture quality. It differentiates between the dark parts and the light parts which makes the content distinctive. When using the dedicated stand, it provides the best-in-class audio-visual experience.

LG MAGNIT’s narrowed wavelength allows the device to display uniform colours across the screen. It comes with enhanced Gamut Transfer technology which supports describes colours close to the original colour.

The Alpha 7 Intelligent Processor adopted from LG’s TV technology recognizes and analyzes the original content, thus, optimizing the clarity and sharpness of the content.

LG MAGNIT comes with HDR (HDR10, HDR10 Pro) support and offers a wider color spectrum and greater contrast ratio that allow the viewers to enjoy the lively content. Its structure further minimizes color distortion according to the viewing angle.

The product is coated with several layers of film which protects the LED chips from risks caused by water drops, dust, static electricity, or physical impacts. The smooth screen surface of LG MAGNIT makes it more visually appealing.

Through wireless broadband transmission technology, it does not require signal and power cable connection is required between the cabinets. Cables are required for connecting the screen to its system controller and power. It also comes with Common Cathode Drive-IC which supplies the right necessary voltage to each R, G, B sub-pixel individually to minimize unnecessary power consumption. The main circuit parts inside the LED cabinet go to standby mode. This saves additional power consumption and enables the product to be reactivated simply by using a remote control.

The intuitive UI allows users to easily access the settings by using a remote control instead of connecting to a PC. It has been certified Crestron Connected® for a higher level of compatibility with professional AV controls to achieve seamless integration and automated control, boosting business management efficiency.

LG MAGNIT’s wide viewing angle and accurate colours make it more visually appealing and suitable for home entertainment purposes. Additionally, it consumes lesser power even when used 24×7 which proves to be beneficial for Command Control Centres, especially in various Corporate / BFSI / PSU & Government Establishments.

The LG MAGNIT comes with three pairs of wall mount accessories and a frame kit are provided as options. It is also compatible with LG SuperSign CMS solution which is an all-in-one content management solution for content editing, scheduling, and distribution. Maintenance is easy and fast with the optional ConnectedCare* service, a cloud service solution provided by LG.

LG’s latest 27-inch monitor makes 144Hz 4K gaming possible

LG is a common name in India for their televisions, but the Korean company has some ground to cover for making its monitors as ubiquitous as their TV sets. They have been expanding their portfolio slowly and steadily and the latest one to join is 27GN950 UltraGear, a 27-inch 4K gaming monitor.

The 27GN950 packs a punch when it comes to tech and connectivity. The Nano IPS panel offers great viewing angle and 98% DCI-P3 colour gamut, along with 10-bit colour for an improved viewing experience. The panel is VESA DisplayHDR600 certified, but given the edge-lit local dimming, the HDR experience is okayish.

The monitor features quite a few connectivity options like USB 3.0, two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort and while it can output at 4K UHD (3840×2160) on both HDMI and DisplayPort, achieving 144Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution will require a compatible GPU that supports DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC. Faster refresh rate at 4K is not possible for gaming consoles over HDMI. Having said that, 144Hz refresh rate at 4K along with 1ms response time ensures one of the best gaming experience when you are playing an FPS or any other fast-paced game. Adaptive Sync helps to reduce screen tearing and stuttering, irrespective of the Nvidia or an AMD GPU as the monitor supports both Nvidia G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

There are no integrated speakers, but the monitor has a 3.5mm headphone jack to plug your choice of headphones and earphones and control their volume with the OSD button below the monitor.

The 27-inch screen takes all the attention at the front with virtually no bezels around the display and no branding to distract the user. The back, however, proves its gaming credentials with a circular RGB ring aka sphere lighting, which is bright enough to act as ambient light and is completely customisable with the help of additional downloadable software or a dial concealed nicely under the monitor. To make it truly immersive, the lights can also be synced to video or audio, so it changes colours according to what’s happening on the screen. The V-Wing shaped stand complements the monitor and can be adjusted to tilt, pivot, raise or lower the height.

The LG 27GN950 is an interesting monitor. While it cuts some corners on the HDR side but compensates it by delivering excellent picture quality, colours and fast refresh rate.

RATING 4/5
WE’RE IMPRESSED Performance
WE’D IMPROVE HDR
THE LAST WORD The 27GN950 UltraGear is a competitively priced monitor that brings 4K gaming with 144Hz refresh rate and great colour support.

LG unveils the most unique smartphone in the market today

September 21, 2020 by T3 India

LG has pulled off a remarkable feat through the innovation of the truly unique LG Wing – a smartphone that swivels and shows off two screens, perpendicular to each other in orientation. There’s no doubt that this fantastic trait can enhance the users multitasking capabilities and the Wing’s specifications also ensure that the smartphone delivers when it comes to speed and performance.

First things first, the LG Wing has 6.8” FHD+ P-OLED main screen with a 2460×1080 resolution and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. Additionally, the LG Wing has a 3.9” G-OLED screen offering a resolution of 1240 x 1080. LG Wing comprises of the ‘Basic Mode’ and the ‘Swivel Mode’ where the former is similar to a normal smartphone with the main screen serving as the main and only mode of operation.

The ‘Swivel Mode’, however, is what is most alluring about the LG Wing. In this mode, the ‘entire front of the phone rotates clockwise 90 degrees, orienting the Main Screen in landscape mode to reveal a 3.9 inch Second Screen’. The second screen enables the user to do a myriad of things while the main screen is busy with the user’s main task – for eg. chatting with friends on the second screen while watching a movie in the first. The second screen also acts like a ‘media controller’, which enables users to change video and sound settings.

The LG Wing is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G chipset, with an integrated Snapdragon X52 5G Modem-RF System, thus, being Qualcomm’s first mobile platform to do so. Snapdragon’s Elite Gaming features enhance the gaming experience for users as well, through better audio, response time, and graphics.

The LG Wing runs on Android 10 and on a 4000mAh battery. It has three cameras in the rear, with a 64MP ultra high-resolution OIS Wide main camera, 13MP ultra-wide camera, and 12MP ultra-wide ‘Big Pixel’ camera. The ‘Swivel Mode’ allows users to access the ‘Dual Recording’ mode which enables the 32MP front pop-up camera and one of the rear cameras to record simultaneously.

LG Wing also comes with the Gimbal system and hexa-motion stabiliser, which can be activated through the Swivel Mode, with the second screen serving the purpose of a reliable grip – which helps in capturing stable and smooth photographs and videos

The hinge mechanism used in LG Wing is tested to be reliable even after 200,000 swivels. The LG Wing comes with an 8GB RAM and options of 128GB or 256GB of storage which can be expanded to 2TB using a microSD card.

The LG Wing is available in the Aurora Gray and Illusion Sky colour variants.
