Lenovo expands its IdeaPad portfolio with the Slim 5 Pro

Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 5 Pro laptop is the company’s latest addition to their IdeaPad series which offers a high degree of versatility owing to the integration of the 11th gen Intel Core processors and AMD Ryzen processers with high-end GPUs in the Slim 5 Pro’s different variants. The Slim 5 Pro is equipped with a 14-inch 2.2K IPS anti-glare display that offers a brightness of 300 nits. The other variant of the Slim 5 Pro comes with a 16-inch WQXGA IPS anti-glare display with 350 nits of brightness. The display offers a 100% sRGB colour gamut and a 16:10 aspect ratio which is surrounded by narrow bezels.

The Slim 5 Pro’s variants are equipped with either: up to 11th Gen Intel Core i7 or up to AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processors. The variants also offer multiple options of GPUs ranging from Nvidia’s GeForce, Intel Iris Xe, and AMD Raedon. The speed and ease of doing tasks is enhanced through the combination of the latest processors and GPUs. Additionally, the laptop also comes with an enlarged touchpad and arrow keys which are designed to deliver improved ergonomics and tactile control.

The Slim 5 Pro also offers an enhanced viewing experience with the help of its speaker system which is enhanced by Dolby Atmos. The option of utilising the moving 3D audio feature through the two user-facing speaker is also available through the Dolby Access app.

The battery ranges from a 56.5Wh to a 75Wh, depending on the variant chosen. The computers run on Windows 10 Home 64-bit, and are upgradable to Windows 11. The Slim 5 Pro comes with an internal storage capacity ranging from 1TB to 512GB SSD PCIe 3.0×4 NVMe.

The Slim 5 Pro is constructed using aluminium with an anodized surface treatment. While the 14-inch variant is only 17.9mm thin and weighs 1.38kg, the 16-inch variant is 18.4mm thin and weighs 1.9kg.

The Slim Pro 5 is also equipped with smart features like zero touch login, facial recognition through infrared camera, Amazon’s Alexa, and Microsoft’s Cortana. The Slim 5 Pro is equipped with dual array microphones as well.

The new Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with Legion Ultimate Support for gamers

Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro is a feature-rich laptop which is packed with immense power and the capability to smoothly run top games. The laptop comes with Legion Ultimate Support which is the company’s comprehensive service and support offering designed for gamers. Let’s get right to what the Legion 5 Pro has to offer.

The Legion 5 Pro is powered by the impressive AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor which is built on the new AMD ‘Zen 3’ architecture. It also boasts of the NVIDIA GeFroce RTX 30 series of GPUs which bring 2nd generation ray tracing, 3rd gen AI Tensor cores, and other state-of-the-art features within. Lenovo’s Legion AI Engine further enhances the performance of the laptop as it allows to dynamically shift the power between the CPU and GPU for boosting framerates. Watch the launch video below:

Further, the Legion 5 Pro has the capability of supporting a 140W NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 as well and this is because of optimal thermal management introduced through the Legion ColdFront 3.0 which is essentially a quad-channel exhaust system comprising thermal fins, a turbo-charged dual fan design and multiple thermal sensors.

The Legion 5 Pro is equipped with a 16-inch QHD 165Hz IPS display with a response time of up to 3ms. The 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 the Legion 5 Pro enhances the immersive gaming experience with HDR 400 support, VESA Display, Dolby Vision, and by offering a peak brightness of 500 nits. The display has a 34% increased pixel density and a 100% sRGB color accuracy.

The Legion TrueStrike Keyboard with soft-landing switches also has a 4-zone RGB lighting and a larger touchpad. The Legion 5 Pro is equipped with 3D Nahimic Audio which delivers 360-degree audio and has features like Night Mode with smart volume reduction, and Sound Tracker that “visually points out a sound’s source and direction in a game”. Users can connect two Bluetooth headsets at the same time to play together or share a game’s sound experience.

The Legion 5 Pro also offers ‘Legion Ultimate Support’ which is a one-of-a-kind service with 24×7 tech support through highly-trained and experienced technicians who are gamers themselves. ‘Legion Ultimate Support offers guidance on hardware optimization and software assistance from professional technicians, and also allows customers to learn the tips and tricks for software tuning, hardware optimization and overclocking’, the press release mentions.

The Legion 5 Pro has 2x 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4-3200 inputs, and is upgradable to 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM. The laptop offers 1TB SSD storage capacity which is expandable to 2TB. The 80Wh battery comes with a rapid charge pro feature, and offers a battery-life of 8.1 hours on hybrid mode.

Lenovo Legion 5 Pro comes in Storm Grey and is available at INR 1,39,990 (for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, 16GB), or at INR 1,59,990 ((for NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, 32GB). The laptop can be pre-ordered on Amazon.in and Lenovo.com from today onwards. It will soon be available across all offline channels in August 2021.

Lenovo’s flexible Yoga Duet 7i and IdeaPad Duet 3

Lenovo has launched its premium detachable PCs – the Yoga Duet 7i and the IdeaPad Duet 3. Both these lightweight laptops are designed with high quality screens and have a host of features which are suitable for users ranging from students to work professionals.

The Lenovo Yoga Duet 7i

The Yoga Duet 7i is Lenovo’s first-ever PC in the Yoga series which comes with a detachable and backlit Bluetooth v5.0 keyboard. The Yoga Duet 7i weighs just 1.16kg and it is made with an adjustable kickstand for easier viewing. This laptop allows users to choose between a tablet mode (with or without a kickstand) and the traditional laptop mode after attaching the keyboard.  

The Yoga Duet 7i is powered by the 11th generation Intel Core i5 processors and also consists of the Intel Iris Xe GPU. With a 13-inch HD touchscreen with narrow bezels, the Yoga Duet 7i is armed with 100% sRGB color gamut at 450 nits brightness. Featuring a 10.8-hour battery life, the Yoga Duet 7i is also equipped with and 8GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Dolby Audio, Dolby Vision, 512GB SSD storage, Lenovo E-color Pen, HD Audio chip, two 1W stereo speakers, Magnesium-aluminium case material (slate gray case colour), and a front & rear 5MP camera.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3

The 0.86kg IdeaPad Duet 3 comes with a detachable Bluetooth (v5.0) keyboard, and a folio kickstand supporting Lenovo Digital Pen. This laptop is powered by Intel Celeron processors and Intel UHD graphics. The 10.3-inch FHD IPS panel display offers a brightness of 330 nits. The IdeaPad Duet 3 is fitted with 4GB DDR4-2400 RAM and runs on Windows 10. It is also features dual 360-degree mics and a 7-hour battery life.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 3 is equipped with a 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage, and it also has 2MP and 5MP front and rear cameras with a privacy shutter. Like the Yoga Duet 7i, this laptop, too, features an HD Audio chip, two 1W stereo speakers, and Dolby Audio.

The new Lenovo Smart Clock Essential supports Hindi Language commands as well

Lenovo have announced the launch of a Smart Clock Essential which is another addition to their smart device/smart home portfolio. Designed like a traditional alarm clock, this digital clock comes with a host of connected features and with the capability to display real-time information to make life easier for the users.

The Smart Clock Essential builds on its predecessor, the Smart Clock – which was primarily designed for the users’ bedrooms. The Smart Clock Essential looks to incorporate the same time-saving and hands-free features of its predecessor and expand it into something that can be seamlessly used throughout the users’ homes. Along with a 4” LED display which comes with an ambient light display that allows viewing from multiple angles through adjustable brightness (with a nightlight of 31 lumens), the Smart Clock Essential also supports Google Assistant and is Lenovo’s first smart device to support voice commands given in Hindi. That’s a big and positive step up the innovation ladder for Lenovo, opening this product up to a larger target audience.

The Smart Clock Essential has 2 microphone arrays and Lenovo claims that these microphones can ‘pick up questions from nearly anywhere in the room’. The new-age digital clock’s 3W speakers can also be paired with other compatible speakers and the sound quality can be amplified easily. Lenovo also states that “it also offers feature parity with other Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers and supports voice match for up to six users at a time”.

Lenovo’s Smart Clock Essential is powered by the Amlogic A113X processor and a 4GB RAM + Flash (eMMC) of 512MB. The clock weighs just 240g and utilises a Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity along with 2.4G/5G WLAN Dual Band. The Smart Clock Essential comes with one alarm button, one play button, one microphone mute toggle, and on +/- volume control button.

Lenovo launches Legion 5 laptop with AMD Ryzen CPU

The Legion 5 is Lenovo’s latest addition to its gaming laptop portfolio, and it boasts the latest AMD processor and a superior NVIDIA GPU. The Legion 5 is priced competitively and is definitely in the more affordable range of gaming laptops, which not only offers a good display but also better cooling and performance.

The Lenovo Legion 5 gaming laptop is powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 4600H-series mobile hexa-core processors. Equipped with the AMD ‘Zen 2’ core architecture and 7nm process technology, facilitates superior performance speeds and multi-tasking.

The Legion 5 boasts of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650Ti GPU, which in combination with the 15.6” IPS 1080 120Hz display, offers smoother graphics and reduces lags. This gaming laptop also features the Legion TrueStrike keyboard with backlight and superior key travel, and also the Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 for thermal efficiency. The Legion 5 provides a battery life of up to 8 hours and also utilises smart power features like the Hybrid Mode by Lenovo Vantage to extend battery life, the Rapid Change Pro for fast charging, and the Lenovo Q-Control 3.0 to control the system voltage and fan speed.

With minimal three-sided mylar bezels, the Legion 5 also features a webcam with a privacy shutter – called TruBlock Webcam Shutter – for extra security. The laptop isn’t lightweight and weighs 2.3kgs. It runs on Windows 10 Home and provides storage options of 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD. The Legion 5 comes with the 2x2W Harman Kardon speaker system and is integrated with the Dolby Atmos headphone support.

The Lenovo Legion 5 comes in the Phantom Black color and is priced at Rs. 75,990. It’s available on Lenovo.com and Lenovo exclusive stores and will release on other retail platforms soon.
