PHAB2 Pro is the first Tango-enabled smartphone

Lenovo has been working on a Tango phone for quite some time and at the Lenovo TechWorld today announced the PHAB 2 Pro. This is the first offering from Lenovo that is culmination of the close partnership with Google and Snapdragon.

Tango is Google’s take on Augmented Reality and promises to enhance the overall experience by bringing AR into the phone.

The phone is equipped with multiple cameras that is essential for Tango to work and features a premium design. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 processor, 4GB RAM, 6.4-inch 2560×1440 2K display and running Android 6.0. Additionally, the device has an internal memory of 64GB with memory expansion through microSD, 16MP main and 8MP front-facing cameras and 4050mAh battery. PHAB2 Pro also features Dolby’s Audio Capture 5.1 that allows capturing of sound in 5.1-channel surround sound.

The PHAB2 Pro will go on sale from September for $499 in the United States.

Lenovo also introduced the PHAB2 Plus and PHAB2 devices alongside the Pro version that does not support Tango and comes with lower spec’d hardware and more affordable price point. The PHAB2 starts at $199 and PHAB2 Plus at $299.
