Huami Amazfit T-Rex is a robust smartwatch for health and wellness enthusiasts

The rugged and robust Huami Amazfit T-Rex is now available in India and it’s price tag doesn’t put a big dent in one’s account as well. Priced at Rs. 9,999, the T-Rex is compatible with iOS and Android and the smartwatch has a 1.3” AMOLED display offering a 360×360 resolution capable of displaying 16.7 million colours.

The display is also armed with the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and an anti-fingerprint coating. Passing the 12 regulations of military standard quality tests – MIL-STD-810 – does give some assurance on the T-Rex’s durability and robustness. Huami also claims that ‘the T-Rex is built to withstand extreme temperatures as well as damp, salt and any challenging outdoor conditions, surviving for two hours under rapid temperature change from -40 to 70 degrees C.

Smartwatches have become health data-tracking heavyweights and the T-Rex is similar to other Huami Amazfit watches as it features 14 sport modes and a BioTracker PPG optical sensor which helps track performances through monitoring the data such as heart rate and exercise duration statistics of diverse activities. The sensor also monitors the heart rate all-day long and also sends reminders if the user has been inactive for long, or warnings if the heart-rate is abnormal.

The Amazfit T-Rex features an impressive 20-day battery life through a 390mAh battery, if used conservatively and wisely. It has an option where the display can stay on until turned off and also has many watch faces to choose from. It hosts a 28mm Sony GPS chip that works for a period of up to 20 hours straight and a sleep monitoring sensor also tracks the quality of the user’s sleep.

The sweat-absorbent silicone strap is definitely a plus for those who work out regularly. One can choose from over 30 watch faces and the T-Rex can also control the music on one’s phone through Bluetooth v5.0 connectivity. Huami Amazfit Bip S smartwatch offers a battery life of up to 40 days

A smartwatch with an affordable price-tag and little to no physical weight – the Huami Amazfit Bip S smartwatch is set to launch in India on June 3, 2020.

The Huami Amazfit Bip S is priced at Rs. 5,999 (as displayed on Flipkart) and it weighs just 31 grams, making it one of the lightest from the Amazfit family which includes the GTR, Verge, Stratos, Bip Lite and other models. The 20mm wristband is made through the ‘Molecular Lattice’ technology, which is what most sport watches integrate in order to remain soft, dry, clean and dirt-resistant, thus enabling its long-term wear. It is also equipped with a 1.28” MIP display with its sensors underneath.

The Amazfit Bip S is available in four colours: Carbon Black, Warm Pink, White Rock and Red Orange and operates on the Amazfit OS. The built-in battery has a capacity of 200mAh and it also promises a battery life of 40 days on a ‘basic usage scenario’ and a 15-day battery life for a ‘typical usage scenario’ which is still a good standard to match up to. The watch can continuously monitor heart-rate, even at rest, through Huami’s very-own ‘Biotracker PPG’ Bio-Tracking Optical Sensor that also reduces power consumption by 80%.

When it comes fitness, more importantly, the Huami Amazfit Bip S strives to be the perfect companion. It has 10 sports modes integrated to it and activities like yoga, indoor cycling, elliptical trainer and more will be added through an update. The Huami Amazfit specialises in capturing swimming data which might me of interest, like the stroke rate, stroke times, etc. It’s waterproof for 50 meters and for these activities and also has ‘excessive heart rate reminders’.

The Huami Amazfit Bip S is compatible with Android (version 5 and up) and iOS 10 and up through the Amazfit App. It has a ton of practical features like 40+ watch faces, 2 editable dials, reminders of messages and phone calls, an alarm clock, weather forecast, the world clock, and the ability to control music from one’s phone.
