ASUS Reveals 2022 Zenbook Lineup at Online Launch Event

Asus has unveiled its 2022 line-up of Zenbook Pro and Zenbook S series laptops at an online launch event entitled The Pinnacle of Performance.

The Zenbook Pro and Zenbook S portfolios include standard, convertible and dual-display laptops ranging in size from 13 inches to 17.3 inches, all featuring a new design and the latest 12th Generation Intel Core H-Series processors or AMD Ryzen 6000 H-Series processors and up to GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs with the benefits of the NVIDIA Studio ecosystem.

And since launching our most comprehensive OLED laptop line-up in 2021, Asus has earned the worldwide No. 1 spot for OLED laptops,” he continued. “With the full enhancement of our brand-new Zenbook Pro and Zenbook S series, these iconic premium compact laptop series not only achieve the pinnacle of performance, but also feature stunning OLED displays, unique innovations, and a modern new look.”

During the event, a ‘Incredible Comes From Within’ marketing campaign for Zenbook was unveiled by Galip Fu, ASUS Global Marketing Director, Consumer PC. “Over the last 10 years, the Zenbook series has been transformed, perfectly reflecting the Asus journey in search of incredible,” he explained. “With our new 2022 portfolio, Zenbook moves to the next level. The incredible comes from within you, from all the people who see things from different perspectives, creating what has never been created. Zenbook is perfectly placed to support those who will not settle, so this year, we’re launching the ‘Incredible Comes from Within’ campaign to continue in search of incredible.”

The flagship model in the new line-up is Zenbook Pro 16X OLED, packed into a compact 2.4 kg unibody and CNC-machined for solidity from super-tough aerospace-grade 6000-series aluminium alloy that’s 16.9 mm slim.

It is an NVIDIA Studio validated laptop, powered by up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i9 12900H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. It features Asus’ IceCool Pro cooling system, which uses two quiet IceBlades fans, each with 97 3D-curved blades to cool the vapour chamber and the 5 mm heat pipe from the CPU and GPU. The 96 Wh battery provides up to 10 hours of autonomy and the 16:10 16-inch 4K OLED HDR 60 Hz 550-nit Dolby Vision touchscreen with PANTONE validation has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 gamut.

Other features include White-RGB Asus Intelligent Lighting System that enables smart interactivity , the Asus Dial rotary controller and an enlarged touchpad with haptic feedback. In addition to the 16-inch model, the Zenbook Pro series also includes the 14.5-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch size varants.

Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED

The Zenbook S series gains two new 13.3-inch models designed for portability, with the convertible Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED and the Zenbook S 13 OLED.

With its versatile 360° ErgoLift hinge, Zenbook S 13 Flip OLED lets users work or play in any mode they choose, be it laptop, tent, stand, tablet or anything in between. The sleek and compact unibody is crafted from premium magnesium-aluminium alloy. It weighs 1.1 kg and measures 14.9 mm in thickness. The laptop comes packed with 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, a 67 Wh battery, three ultrafast Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports and a microSD card reader. Other key features include presence-detection capability, a fingerprint sensor on the power button that allows instant one-touch and password-free login, an RGB colour sensor, up to an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor with AMD Radeon 680M graphics, up to 19-hour battery life and connectivity options including USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C and USB-C Easy Charge. Its 16:10 2.8K OLED HDR NanoEdge Dolby Vision touchscreen is PANTONE Validated and has an ultra-vivid 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut. It also features a Harman Kardon-certified Dolby Atmos audio system with a powerful smart amplifier.

As of now, no pricing or availability related information has been shared by the company.

Asus Unveils ZenBook 14 Flip OLED Laptop

Asus has announced the 14-inch 2.8K OLED HDR display convertible laptop, Zenbook 14 Flip OLED, the latest addition to its ZenBook series.

Commenting on the launch, Arnold Su, Business Head, Consumer, and Gaming PC, System Business Group, Asus India, said, “We are elated to bring world’s first 14″ 2.8K OLED HDR display in an ultra-versatile and convertible laptop for our consumers. We are optimistic that consumer productivity will touch the new skies with this laptop as they have access to a feature-loaded and lightweight design.  We firmly believe in building a complete ecosystem for consumers and we will continue to announce innovation designed to meet modern world requirements.”

The device features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED HDR 16:10 display with a 4-sided NanoEdge design with slim 2.9 mm side bezels and provides an 88% screen to body ratio. Its 360° ErgoLift hinge design allows the display to be flipped to any position. The display supports 2880 x 1800 resolution, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.2 ms response time, along with smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor.

Its full-sized backlit keyboard achieves a 19.05 mm pitch and the audio system has been certified by audio specialist Harman Kardon. It features Asus AI Noise-Cancelling Audio and is equipped with a 63 Whr battery and 100W Type-C fast-charger. The product pricing starts from INR 91,990 and is now available for purchase across online (Asus e-shop/ Amazon/ Flipkart) and offline platforms.

Asus releases the ZenBook UX333/433/533 laptop trinity in India

Asus has launched the 2019 ZenBook UX series that includes ZenBook 13 UX333, ZenBook 14 UX433 and ZenBook 15 UX533 at an event in the capital today. Previously unveiled at IFA 2018, the laptops come in screen sizes of 13.3″ , 14″ and 15.6″.

The company claims the trinity to be the world’s most compact laptops that come with a new frameless ASUS NanoEdge display. Due to the ultra slim bezels on all 4 sides, this leads to a screen-to-body ratio of 95%. What’s more impressive is how a Windows Hello compatible HD IR webcam has been incorporated along the top edge unlike other slim laptops where it is located at the bottom near the keyboard area. An ErgoLift hinge mechanism helps tilt the keyboard for comfortable typing similar to how the level of elevation can be changed on a desktop keyboard. This also has the added benefit of dissipating heat and improving audio by acting as an echo chamber. All this design engineering has lead to a very small footprint overall.

ZenBook 13 and 14 have introduced an LED illuminated numeric keypad that has been built into the touchpad. This can be toggled very quickly with the press of a button located at the top-right edge of the touchpad making it very convenient. Coming to the specifications, the latest 8th Generation Intel CPU, Nvidia Geforce MX150 (ZenBook 14 and 15)/Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 Max-Q discrete graphics (ZenBook 15), upto 16GB DDR4 RAM, PCIe SSD and integrated Gigabit Wi-Fi optimised for Intel Wireless-AC 9560 have been used. While the panel size is of course different, the FHD NanoEdge display with 178 degree wide-view technology and 72% NTSC colour gamut remains common across all models.

The smaller laptops have to make do with a 50W battery providing around 14 hours whereas ZenBook 15 has a 73W battery capable of upto 16 hours of battery life. The series has passed the MIL-STD-810G military standard comprising of rigorous tests including environmental extremes of altitude, temperature, humidity along with drop, shock and vibration testing. Coming to the ports, there are USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2, USB Type-A (upto 10Gbps), USB Type-A (Upto 5Gbps- ZenBook 15) and USB 2.0 (ZenBook 13/14). All three include a full-sized HDMI port and microSD/SD card reader and Bluetooth 5.0 for connection to a wide array of peripherals and accessories.

The entire range will be available for sale online on Amazon, FlipKart and PayTM and offline from 30 January. Pricing starts from Rs.71,990 for UX333, Rs. 72,990 for UX433 and Rs.1,39,990 for UX533.

Asus UX360A makes Indian debut

ASUS announced the availability of the Zenbook Flip UX360CA laptop in India. The 13.3 inch device marks the debut of the convertible form factor in the Zenbook series featuring a 360-degree stepless hinge allowing the UX360CA to be used as a traditional touchscreen laptop, tablet or a combination of the two.

The laptop offers 3200×1800 QHD+ IPS display with a 178-degree viewing angle in a thin 13.9mm profile weighing 1.3kg providing up to 12 hours of battery life. The device has a unibody chasis made out of aluminium with a lid featuring the signature spun-metal Zenbook finish with the Zen-inspired pattern of concentric circles.

The display has an extremely high pixel density of 279ppi with up to 40 per cent more pixels in comparison to other 13.3-inch laptops. It also has a brightness of 350cd/m2 and a wide colour gamut of 72 per centNTSC using ASUS Splendid technology for colour reproduction. On the hardware front, it uses a 6th-generation Intel Core M Skylake processor, 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and 512GB SSD. There are two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a reversible USB 3.1 Type-C port. The fan-less design uses a specially designed ultra-thin heat pipe to ensure totally silent operation.

The UX360A is priced at Rs 46,990 and will be available across leading retailers and Asus Exclusive Stores. It is available in two colour options – Icicle Gold and Mineral Gray.
