Hikvision’s AcuSense raises the bar for AI security systems

October 10, 2021 by T3 India

To allow homeowners and SME organisations breathe a sigh of relief, Hikvision’s AcuSense solutions strive to harness the power of AI to provide much more effective security. The technology is being claimed to revolutionise security for owners with better speeds, ability to help save costs, and upgraded AI features.

In their press release, Hikvision has highlighter 3 ways that AcuSense technology is upping the game in AI security:

  • AcuSense technology supports faster and more effective responses to security incidents through real-time alarms triggered and relayed to the owner’s mobile/smartphone devices, allowing them to respond as quickly as possible in the case of a security breach. This way, the owners can minimise the damages and losses, ad can also prevent severe repercussions.

Another added benefit includes the built-in sound and strobe alarms that are designed to startle the intruders and perpetrators when they enter restricted areas.

  • AcuSense technology can differentiate between humans and vehicles, and other moving objects such as animals, falling leaves, or rain. Through enhanced computer vision abilities, Hikvision’s AcuSense technology minimises false positives and alerts owners only in the event of real security threats.

Footage of incidents can be found very quickly and easily through ‘tags’ added to the video timeline every time a person or vehicle appears in the camera view, thus eliminating the time for manual video searches which is time-consuming to say the least.

  • Hikvision’s AcuSense technology is versatile in the sense that it can be deployed in a range of settings – in residences, warehouses, factories, and other restricted areas. Hikvision has been at the forefront of providing security solutions and its cameras, NVRs, and DVRs are easy to deploy too as they all use similar mounting and configuration processes. The Motion Detection 2.0 function is turned on by default – which means that accurate human and vehicle detection can be done without any configuration.

Users can also deploy AcuSense-enabled NVRs to their existing cameras to take advantage of the new, AI-powered security features. “For the very first time, AcuSense technology from Hikvision is bringing the power of AI security to homeowners and SMEs. That means customers in this important market can now boost their security and respond to incidents faster, while also saving time and reducing their workloads and costs,” says Kevin You, Product Management Director at Hikvision.
