iXpand flash drive, drives away all your storage problems

Sandisk has launched its all new iXpand flash drive. Just like the last generation, the new iXpand allows users to free up space on the iOS device and allows you to backup the iPhone or the iPad, directly stream multimedia content on the phone or store camera-shot photos and videos directly on the iXpand.

The iXpand drive also allows you to password-protect media files and even play iTunes library from the app.

SanDisk is selling the device on Amazon for a brief amount of time at the following prices:

  • 16GB at Rs 3,990
  • 32GB at Rs 4,990
  • 64GB at Rs 6,990
  • 128GB at Rs 9,990

Meizu launches m3 note

Yesterday, on may 11th, Meizu Technology (MEIZU) expanded its product portfolio by unveiling its latest offering -the Meizu m3 note at JW Marriott, Aerocity, New Delhi.

Meizu m3 note combines the fingerprint identification and fingerprint payment together, to make usability more secure. It is equipped with the latest Helio P10 processor, which has the best EER (energy efficiency ratio) of all Mediatek processors. It is processed with a 3GB RAM, a 32 GB ROM and 128GB expandable storage Version. Meizu m3 note is 5mm thinner than the previous generation, with a 4100mAh battery, which is 32% bigger than the previous one. It features a Full HD 1080P display with 403 pixels per inch. It has a 13MP back camera and a 5 MP front camera.

The Dual 4G version will be sold at a price of INR 9,999. The registration of Meizu m3 starts on Wednesday, 11th May at 2 PM and the device will be available from Tuesday, 31st May exclusively on Amazon.

Lenovo launches ZUK Z1

Lenovo has launched its all-new ZUK Z1. The phone competes with Micromax’s recently launched Canvas 6 with a good, powerful hardware and software, powered by Cyanogen OS. The phone is priced at Rs 13,499 and features Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM, 5.5-inch PerfectView display with 100 per cent NTSC gamut and fingerprint sensor on the front. It also has a 13MP camera with OIS, 8MP on the front and a 4100mAh battery. The ZUK Z1 also has a USB Typ-C USB 3.0 that allows faster data transfer, 64GB internal memory and dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac.

The phone goes on sale on May 19 on Amazon India.

This tech makes your skin act as a touchscreen

A research lab at Carnegie Mellon University has taken technology to the next level by finding a way to make your skin act as a tool for gadgets. The skin on your arm and hand act like a touchscreen for a smartwatch. The technology works by using a signal-emitting ring worn on the finger that communicates with the band attached to the watch. It senses continuous tracking, allowing you to draw a picture, for example, using your skin as a canvas. It also senses common gestures like swipes or taps. In short, you can do anything on your smartwatch without having to touch the smartwatch display.

“The great thing about SkinTrack is that it’s not obtrusive; watches and rings are items that people already wear every day,” said Yang Zhang, a first-year PhD from Carnegie Mellon.

The tech, although promising, is still a prototype for now and researchers say there are no concrete plans to commercialise SkinTrack.
