Lenovo has announced the availability of its gaming range ‘Legion’ for India with the Y520 (shown above) and Y720 laptops. While the Y series has been around for a while, they have been re-branded to make a clear distinction from other Lenovo products. Both the laptops thematically share the same looks except for a few differences.
The Legion Y520 features a hardened plastic lid housing a 15.6″ 1080p IPS display, 7th gen Intel Core Core i7-7700HQ processor, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050 with 4GB VRAM, 16GB RAM expandable upto 32GB, 1TB HDD with 128GB SSD and red backlighting. On the other hand, Legion Y720 uses a metallic lid encasing a 15.6″ 1080p IPS display, 7th gen Intel Core Core i7-7700HQ processor, Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 with 6GB VRAM, 16GB RAM expandable upto 32GB, 1TB HDD with 128GB SSD and four zone RGB backlighting.
The Legion series is the first in the world to use Dolby Atmos audio. Heating issues that often plague gaming laptops have also been dealt with by strategically placing fans and vents close to the graphic card and processor to vent out hot air. The higher end Y720 is also VR ready and can support Xbox One wireless input from upto 4 controllers simultaneously.
The laptops come bundled with a Legion branded backpack. A branded gaming mouse and stereo headset are sold separately. The Y520 is priced from Rs.92,490 onward while the Y720 starts from Rs.1,49,990.
