Lava introduces X3 with 3GB RAM

Lava International Limited today announced the launch of Lava X3, under its ‘X’ series, at Rs 6,999. The model comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM which can be further expanded up to 512GB. Lava X3 smartphone pre orders will start on 20th December on Amazon.in. Customers’ pre ordering the Lava X3 on Amazon.in will get free Probuds N11 Neckband (worth MRP Rs 2,999).

The smartphone is equipped with an 8MP Dual AI Rear Camera with LED Flash and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The camera has various modes allowing users to explore features like AI Mode, Beauty Mode, HDR Mode, Portrait Mode, Night Mode, AR Stickers, GIF, QR Scanner and Timelapse.

Powered by Android 12 Go, X3 features a 16.55cm (6.5 inch) display and MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with a clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz. It provides rear fingerprint scanner as well.

Packed with a 4000mAh battery, X3 is available in three colour variations: Arctic Blue, Charcoal Black and Luster Blue. On the connectivity front, the smartphone features dual 4G SIM support and Type C charging port.

Xiaomi introduces Redmi Y3, Redmi 7 in India

Xiaomi today expanded its Redmi lineup with the new Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 smartphones in India. The Redmi Y3 takes over from last year’s Y2 phone and now comes with an upgraded 32MP selfie camera, improved design and better processor.

The Redmi Y3 boasts an Aura Prism Design that shows off a subtle colour change when light reflects on the device. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 632 platform with Kryo 250, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 4000mAh battery, 32GB or 64GB internal storage and 6.26-inch dot notch HD+ display.

The Redmi 7 has got an all-around upgrade with the same Snapdragon 632 processor, 2GB or 3GB RAM option, 6.26-inch HD+ dot notch display, 12+2MP AI rear camera, 8MP front camera and 4000mAh battery.

As for the availability and price, the Redmi Y3 will go on sale from April 30 in Bold Red, Elegant Blue and Prime Black colours for Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant and Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant. The Redmi 7 on the other hand, will go on sale a day early than the Y3 in Eclipse Black, Comet Blue and Lunar Red for Rs. 7,999 for the 2GB+32GB variant and Rs. 8,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant.

Realme announces Realme 3 Pro and Realme C2

Realme today expanded its Realme 3 family by adding the Pro variant. The Realme 3 Pro takes on Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 Pro with improved performance and design. The Realme 3 Pro’s design is inspired by racetracks in Le Mans that has an S-shaped curved back and a gradient colour design. On the front, the phone has a dewdrop Full HD+ display with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.8%.

Hardware-wise, the ColorOS 6 running Realme 3 Pro comes with Snapdragon 710 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, dual-camera setup (16MP+5MP rear), 25MP on the front, 4045mAh battery and VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.

The cameras have got a bump with improved features like a software-based 64MB Ultra HD mode, 4K video recording, nightscape and Chroma Boost.

The Realme 3 Pro will go on sale from next week for Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB+64GB ROM variant and Rs. 16,999 6GB+128GB ROM variant. Customers buying from Flipkart will also get an additional Rs. 1,000 discount while transacting through an HDFC debit or a credit card.

Along with the Realme 3 Pro, Realme also introduced the Realme C2. It’s a budget device with a “diamond-cut design with 3-layer of paintings and pearl shining particles”, 6.1-inch dewdrop HD+ display, 2GHz octa-core Helio P22 processor, 13MP+2MP camera, and up to 3GB of RAM.

The C2 will go on sale from May 15 for Rs. 5,999 (2GB+16GB) and Rs. 7,999 (3GB+32GB).

Xiaomi brings the Redmi Note 6 Pro to India

Xiaomi has refreshed its best selling Redmi Note series with the new Redmi Note 6 Pro. The new device takes over from last year’s Redmi Note 5 Pro with a refined design, and brushed metallic back that gives a good hand-feel.

The phone features a 6.26-inch Full HD+ notched display that boasts a 500nits brightness along with Gorilla Glass protection on the top. Internally, there’s P2i coating that makes the internal components resilient to water ingress. However, there’s no specific IP rating, which means you shouldn’t deliberately try to dunk it in the water.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro uses the same SoC as the 5 Pro like the quad-core Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM and runs MIUI 10 (the phone comes with MIUI 9 out of the box but there’s a zero-day patch available to upgrade the phone).

The phone supports both face and fingerprint unlock and comes with 4000mAh battery, IR Blaster, Quick Charge 3.0 support, hybrid SIM slot.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with quad cameras with two in the front and two at the back. The back has a 12+5MP setup with dual pixel autofocus, f/1.9 aperture, AI mode and EIS for video. The front has a 20+2MP setup with 4-in-1 super pixel and AI support.

The phone goes on sale from tomorrow on Flipkart for Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 15,999 for the 4GB and 6GB variant respectively.

Moto Z2 Force to achieve rare combo of tough yet smart

Lenovo looks set to unveil a new Moto Z2 Force smartphone soon after a leak has revealed the handset early.

The Moto Z2 Force photos appeared on China’s Baidu showing hands-on action with the large toughphone. One of the most obvious parts of the Moto Z2 Force is the attachment pins on the rear for Moto Mods, suggesting this will work with the Mod family while still being tough.

The features leaked in the photos include a dual rear camera setup, slim frame and front facing home button that may double as a fingerprint reader. Like the original Force phone we expect this to have a screen that’s reinforced to avoid damage as well as full waterproofing.

Other specs have not been revealed yet but Lenovo is expected to unveil the phone later today. Unlike the original Force phone this new Moto Z2 Force is expected to be available more widely.
