Lava launches its latest TWS earbuds: Probuds 2

Lava International Ltd. launched the Probuds 2, which is their latest addition to their portfolio of TWS earbuds. The Probuds 2 sale will go live on August 26, 2021 and their competitive pricing surely gives them an edge.

The Probuds 2 feature 14mm dynamic drivers which deliver powerful sound detailed with thumping bass. The earbuds are integrated with an instant wake and pair technology along with Bluetooth v5.0. The Probuds 2 also delivers 23 hours of playback time, 5 hours of which is from the earbuds’ battery and 18 hours from the charging case.

The button-like design of the Probuds 2 ensures a secure fit. The Probuds 2 look trendy and feel like a premium product as it comes in a classic black colour with a matte finish. More so, the buds are compatible with Google’s and Siri’s voice assistance features and they also have intuitive gesture control which enables the users to manage music and calls through touch.

Lava Offers You a Chance to Design the Next Indian Smartphone

Indian mobile handset brand, Lava International Limited, has announced the launch of the second season of its ‘Design in India’ (DII) challenge. Lava’s DII contest invites entries for designing the next Indian smartphone. The contest is open to students and working professionals either presently pursuing or graduated in B.Tech/B.E., Bachelors in Design Program or Masters in Design Program from any institute across India in select specialisations. The registrations will be open from 15th August to 25th August 2021.

Talking about the contest, Tejinder Singh, Head – Product, Lava International said, “As the nation focusses on Atmanirbhar Bharat, the telecom industry can play a pivotal role in facilitating this mission. India has a fantastic talent pool waiting to be tapped. Through the ‘Design in India’ challenge, Lava seeks to offer the country’s youth and other talented professionals a platform to showcase their skills for this nation-building process. Therefore, Lava’s call for entries offers them an excellent opportunity to showcase their creative skills by providing fresh perspectives in our endeavour to come up with the best smartphone prototype for the country.”

Registrations will be via Lava’s website, using the team leader’s email ID and mobile number. Students/professionals can participate in a team with a minimum of one and a maximum of three members. Any plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification of the team.

The contest will be conducted in three rounds – ideation, prototype creation and presentation to the jury. After registering, eligible candidates will receive an email intimation and gain portal access to submit a solution according to predetermined timelines. All submissions will be evaluated by a panel comprising Lava International’s senior leaders. The top 10 teams will then be shortlisted for the Prototype development round.

In round two, the top 10 teams will submit functional Smartphone prototypes/plans. The five top teams will be shortlisted for Round three – the Finale. Teams will be judged on three parameters – creativity, functionality and uniqueness. The final five teams will present their ideas to a panel constituting of Lava’s senior leadership. Sanjeev Agarwal, Chief Manufacturing Officer – Lava International will head the judging panel.

At the competition’s culmination, the top three winning teams will receive a pre-placement interview opportunity at Lava. They will also be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 15,000, respectively.

Lava’s Design in India initiative is powered by MediaTek.

Lava debuts the stylish Z series

Lava launched two new smartphones in the highly competitive mid end segment at an event in the capital today. The Lava Z10 (pictured above) and Z25 have been designed in-house and manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The rear camera in the Z25 (shown below) makes use of a Sony Exmor 258 sensor with f/2.0 wide aperture and 5P Largan lens which gives better images even in low light conditions. It is further bolstered by the camera software having a Bokeh mode providing depth of field effect and Night Pro mode for taking images under dim lighting. The fingerprint sensor on the rear can unlock the device in just 0.16 seconds with App Encryption allowing users to lock specific apps.

The more affordable Z10 is equipped with a rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and front camera with spotlight flash. Both devices run on Star OS 3.3 based on Android Marshmallow. In-built smart gestures allow easy access to a number of features on the phones. Power saver mode and Super power saver mode help extend battery life considerably. Coming to the physical aspect of the Z series, the display is protected by 2.5D curved glass and a Series 5 metal back cover with chrome edges.

The Z10 is priced at Rs.11,500 and the Z25 at Rs.18,000. For a limited period the devices will be offered at a special discounted price set by offline retailers.

Lava launches budget P7 plus

Lava Mobiles has released the P7 plus budget smartphone in India. The 3G enabled dual-SIM device is an update on the P7 which was released earlier this year.

The P7 plus has a 2.5D curved glass protecting the display. The device is clearly aimed at the selfie obsessed. The front camera has a 84 degree wide angle lens specifically suited for taking a “Groupfie” with a majority of people. Both the cameras house LED flash modules to accommodate basic low light photography.

The P7 plus is priced at Rs.5,649 and is expected to be launched very soon.

Lava expands X series with latest X80 tablet

Lava has added another tablet to its range with the launch of the X80. However, the device is a bit behind the times with the Kitkat 4.4 OS and only 3G support. The tablet comes with 1 year of manufacturer warranty along with 6 months warranty for the box accessories including battery, headset, charger and USB cable.

Lava X80 is priced at Rs.9,999 and sold at retail outlets across the country.
