Asus reveals Titanium Edition of ZenFone Max Pro M2

Asus has released the ‘Titanium edition’ of the ZenFone Max Pro M2 that was launched in December last year. The new finish joins the existing Blue colour model available since launch.

The 6.26″ Full HD+ (1080x2280p) display has 19:9 aspect ratio, 94% NTSC colour gamut and a peak brightness of 450 nits. It is the first smartphone in its segment to be protected by 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The notch on the top houses an LED flash, camera, earpiece, notification LED, ambient and proximity sensors. Internally the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC with Adreno 512 GPU running on a 5000mAh battery.

On the imaging front, the front camera has a 13MP lens with LED flash having f/2.0 aperture capable of selfies even in a dark environment. On the rear next to the fingerprint sensor is a dual camera setup comprising of a Sony IMX486 sensor having 12MP resolution (F/1.8) and a secondary 5MP depth sensor (f/2.4). For sound, there is a five-magnet speaker enhanced by NXP low-distortion smart amplifier. It has dimensions of 157.9×75.5×8.5mm and a weight of 175 grams.

Priced at Rs.12,999 for 3GB+32GB, Rs.14,999 for 4GB+64GB and Rs.16,999 for 6GB+64GB, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 Titanium Edition is being sold online on Flipkart only.

Asus releases Zenfone Max M1 and Zenfone Lite L1 in the budget segment

Asus has added two more devices to its Zenfone portfolio that include the Max M1 and Lite L1. They have been built specially for the Indian market taking into account their needs and usage.

Both are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC making it one of the very few smartphones in this price bracket to offer an octa-core processor although it is more than 2.5 years old. There is no notch on the 800:1 contrast display having an 18:9 aspect ratio. Both devices come with 100GB free Google Drive storage, a first in this segment. The ZenUI 5.0 comes with 14 pre-loaded apps trying to keep bloatware to a minimum.

Available in Black and Gold colours, Asus Zenfone Lite L1 is priced at Rs.6,999 with a limited period price of Rs.5,999 during the Flipkart Festive Sale. Zenfone Max M1 costs Rs.8,999 with a limited period price of Rs.7,499 during the aforementioned sale.

Asus Zenfone Live with live streaming beautification technology comes to India

Asus launched their latest smartphone, the Zenfone Live, in India today. The device was first revealed in China back in February.

The device comes with the world’s first live streaming beautification technology via the BeautyLive app letting users remove any imperfections or blemishes when live streaming to social media websites. Running on ZenUI 3.5 based on Android Marshmallow 6.0, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage expandable upto 128GB via microSD and 2650mAh battery. The 5″ HD IPS display is equipped with a 2.5D curved glass and Bluelight filter to shield from harmful light.

The front camera uses a 5MP lens with f/2.2 aperture, 82 degree wide angle lens, soft light LED flash and 1.4micron pixel sensor while the rear camera makes use of a 13MP Pixel Master rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash.

Priced at Rs.9,999, the device will go on sale via both offline and online retailers.

Asus launches Zenfone 3S Max

Asus has released an update of the Zenfone 3 Max in the form of the latest Zenfone 3S Max (ZC521TL). The device has received a few upgrades to its specifications.

The 3S Max is encased in an aluminium metal unibody design housing a massive battery. The company claims it offers upto 3 days of normal usage and can even be used as a power bank thanks to its reverse charging feature. The display is protected by a 2.5D curved glass and has a brightness of 450 nits.

The device is running on Asus ZenUI 3.0 running atop the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. Coming to cameras, the rear camera has a 5P Largan lens with f/2.0 aperture and a dual-LED real-tone flash while the front camera makes use of a 85 degree wide angle lens. At the bottom is an embedded dual-microphone setup boasting noise cancellation and a mono loudspeaker which is increased by ICEpower.

Priced at Rs.14,999, the device is sold on Amazon India.

Asus Zenfone receives latest Android upgrade

Asus announced the rollout of the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0 upgrade for its Zenfone range. It will automatically replace Google Calendar, Gmail and Messenger with ZenUI replacements as default apps. However, the default Google apps will be restored in the Android M update.
