Google’s new chat app Allo has received a major update with various features bumping it to version 2.0.
GIF keyboard support allows users to directly send animated GIFs using the Google keyboard directly. Android Wear support has also been added which will let users quick reply with their voice, emoticons or even use automated responses. Direct voice recognition is also supported when using Google Assistant.
Android Marshmallow immigrant Direct Share lets users share text and images directly with a person or a group instead of opening up the app or contact card. Notifications have been improved using the Better Notifications feature from Android Nougat allowing users to directly reply from the notification bar.
The update will roll out in a phased manner shortly.
