Jabra Talk 2 offers HD voice calls, supports Google Now and Siri

If you’re in the market looking for a decent Bluetooth headset, Jabra has launched the Talk 2 wireless mono headset. Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, the headset promises “HD quality” voice calls, a comfortable fit and a nine-hour battery life with up to nine days of standby and support for Jabra Assist app that gives visual cues like the amount of battery left, track the headset.

Smart Photography & T3 India host Innovation, Technology & Imaging Awards 2017

Smart Photography & T3 India — India’s premier imaging and gadget lifestyle focused magazines — hosted the Innovation, Technology & Imaging Awards 2017 on February 10, 2017. The event saw the who is who of the technology and imaging world getting together to cheer for the best products in the industry.

The 2017 edition of the annual event presented a total of 38 awards across technology and imaging segments. TV of the Year over Rs. 1,00,000 was awarded to Sony Bravia Z9D, while Samsung Galaxy S7 edge was adjudged the Flagship Smartphone of the Year. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza bagged the Domestic Car of the Year award. In the imaging section, Canon 5D Mark IV won the Smart Photography Camera of the Year award, while the Nikon D500 was adjudged the Best APS-C D-SLR of the Year. MWC 2017: Nokia and Airtel working together to bring 5G to India

Towards the end of the MWC 2017 in Barcelona came interesting news for India related to 5G networks. Nokia and Airtel are teaming up to bring 5G standard and Internet of Things (IoT) to the country by laying out a strategic road map for it. They also aim to build on 4G to provide the highest level of quality and reliability with regards to cost effectiveness, operations and power.

The 5G network promises tangible improvements in terms of network latency, peak data speeds and even introducing new features like network slicing. This will also let operators support growing number of consumers and ever increasing IoT devices with proper Quality of Service (QoS). It will also have the added benefit of laying the foundation for smart cities, connected vehicles among other things.

Both companies will be leveraging Nokia’s 5G FIRST end-to-end 5G solution which includes AirScale radio portfolio and AirFrame data centre platform to demonstrate 5G capabilities. The government is said to be making moves to adopt 5G network at a quicker pace in India.

Google to block .js attachments starting next month

Google has announced that it will start blocking .js attachments in Gmail from 13 February, 2017. Currently, Gmail restricts various file formats like .bat, .exe and .hta citing security reasons as these executable files are prone to exploits.

After the block has been implemented in a rollout expected to take a few days, any user attempting to upload a .js file will find themselves staring at a message stating the file was blocked due to a security issue. However, users can send these files over Google Cloud Storage or Google Drive without restrictions.

Additional measures currently taken by Google prevent password protected archives and locked files from being uploaded since they cannot be scanned before the user is able to download them.
