I’ve used monitor lamps before, but the ScreenBar Halo 2 feels like a more mature iteration. The clamp mechanism is solid and doesn’t put pressure on the screen itself, which is crucial for my peace of mind. It’s very easy to set up as well. Plug-and-play is the keyword here.

The key differentiator here is the rear backlight. It sounds like an aesthetic choice, but practically, it reduces the contrast ratio between the bright screen and the dark room behind it, which genuinely helps with eye strain during those late-night editing and gaming sessions.
The puck (wireless controller) is a neat addition to the desk. It allows me to adjust brightness and color temperature without reaching up to the light bar or fumbling with on-screen menus. That said, the touch sensitivity took me a minute to get used to. It’s very responsive—almost too responsive at times—but once I dialed it in, having that control at my fingertips is convenient. Maybe Benq could add customization option wrt sensitivity, in the next iteration.
We’re impressed:
The rear backlight effectively reduces contrast strain during late-night sessions.
We’d improve:
The touch sensitivity on the wireless puck can be a bit too responsive.
The last word:
This feels like a mature iteration of the monitor lamp. The clamp is solid, the wireless control is convenient, and the dual-light design genuinely improves eye comfort. It’s not just an aesthetic addition; it’s a functional upgrade for long editing nights.
