Asus ROG Announces Strix XG16 Portable Gaming Monitor

Asus ROG has announced Strix XG16, a portable 15.6‑inch FHD (1920 x 1080) gaming monitor with a 144 Hz IPS panel and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility.

It has a 15.6‑inch FHD IPS panel and delivers 144 Hz refresh rate while the G-SYNC compatibility eliminates screen tearing. It is reported to be the first ROG portable gaming monitor by Asus to be offered with an entirely white finish. The monitor is also available with a classic black finish. The monitor has a built-in 7800 mAh battery that provides up to three hours of viewing at 144 Hz, and a quick-charge function enables up to two hours of use after just an hour of charging.

A fold-out kickstand props the Strix XG16 up to one of several viewing positions in both landscape and portrait orientation. The monitor includes a tripod socket that’s compatible with standard tripods, allowing the monitor to be used as a secondary screen for a laptop or a larger screen for mobile devices. The Strix XG16AHP models additionally include a bundled ROG tripod.

A micro HDMI and two USB-C ports provide versatile connectivity with a wide variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, game consoles, cameras and more. When hooked up to a laptop or PC, the USB-C connection delivers both signal output and power to the monitor. It can also be charged via the bundled USB-C cable and adapter.

The Asus ROG Strix XG16 will be available, starting with the XG16AHP-W from July at an MRP of INR 60,999.

Yamaha Launches Wireless Buds

Yamaha has launched a duo of True Wireless Earbuds i.e. the TW-E3B and TW-E5B.

These new additions to the line-up of wireless sound devices are reported to deliver detailed and accurate timbre in each note while also taking care of the contrast between stillness and motion.

“Since True wireless earbuds fall into the highest-selling category due to their mobility and versatile use, Yamaha has taken excessive care while designing TW-E3B and TW- E5B so that its users can stay connected to music without harming their hearing capacity due to excessive use over a period of time.” said Venkatesh Prasad Manyam- Business Head, AV Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Music India.

According to reports, it auto-corrects the sound balance optimally according to the volume and balances the difficult-to-hear high and low frequencies. The TW-E3B is powered by audio codec Qualcomm aptX, that supports SBC, AAC, and Qualcomm’s advanced aptX audio. It comes with four different size ear tips and the insert housing has a non-slip coating for a secure fit. The earbuds are available in four colours- Blue, Pink, Purple and Black. All major controls such as play, pause, skip and volume buttons are placed on the earphones itself. Alternatively, the users can manage controls through Yamaha’s Headphones Controller app. It ensures 24-hr battery backup with a charging case and last between 6-18 hours (approx.).

The TW-E5B comes with an advanced mic design and Qualcomm CVC (Clear Voice Capture). It has a smart Ambient Sound mode and a Gaming Mode. Its housing design has an ‘edge’ to fit the ear canal for a better fit. The oval shape allows the user to rotate the earbuds to fit in any position. It comes with four sizes of ear-tips that are replaceable according to the size of the left and right earholes. It is available in two colours viz. Black and Blue. It has controls for phone calls, music playback and Siri / Google Assistant activation. The users can adjust custom EQ and other settings with the Yamaha Headphone Control app on their smartphone.

It has up to 30 hours of battery life with an enhanced charging case featuring battery life indicators.

The TW-E3B is available at a price of INR 8,490 while the TW-E5B will be available at a price of INR 14,200.

Ambrane Unmasks Wise Roam Smartwatch

Ambrane has further expanded its portfolio of Wise Smartwatch Series with the introduction of ‘Wise Roam’.

The smartwatch has been designed with 1.28-inch circular LucidDisplay and scratch-proof 2.5D curved Glass. The screen has been designed with 450 nits brightness, making it daylight compatible. It also supports theatre mode that dims the brightness and lowers the vibration to keep you focussed during your daily virtual meetings. It has a plethora of personalisation options, including change of watch face. Users have the option to choose their own wallpaper or one of 100+ cloud-based watch faces. The smartwatch is splash and resistant to IP68 standards.

The device is equipped with advanced health and wellness sensors and features that track heart rate, blood pressure, SpO2, menstrual tracking, sleep and more. Other health features supported by the smartwatch are sedentary reminders, weather forecasts, Female Health Tracker, High AR Alert and Breath training. The smartwatch has 60+ sports modes, allowing users to gain detailed stats on their daily fitness and training routine in real time. It can be connected to your smartphone using the Da Fit App, which is compatible with both Android and iOS. Furthermore, the smartwatch is compatible with Google Fit and Apple Health.

The Wise Roam smartwatch is reported to outlast up to 10 days of continuous usage, be it activity tracking or sleep monitoring, owing to its 260 mAh battery. The device supports super-fast charging and takes up to 2 hours for it to charge from 0 to 100%. The smartwatch comes with an inbuilt mic, supports Bluetooth calling and a smart notification feature.

LG Unveils Rollable OLED TV at Croma

LG has announced the retail availability of its Rollable OLED TV, the Signature OLED R, in Mumbai at Croma, Juhu. This product will be placed at very few select stores across India, starting with Croma, exclusively at their Juhu store in Mumbai.

The TV boasts a 65(165 cms) flexible OLED display that leverages self-lighting pixel technology and individual dimming control. According to LG, the R in the name signifies that the TV is rollable, revolutionary in the home entertainment space and redefines the relationship between a TV that can disappear from view at the touch of a button and the surrounding space. It can also transform into three different viewing formats i.e. Full View, Line View and Zero View.

Elista Introduces Smart LED TVs

Elista has announced the debut of its ultra-premium Smart LED TVs. They are powered by webOS TV and feature a bezel-less design.

Available in three screen sizes, i.e. 43-inch (109 cm), 50-inch (124 cm), and 55-inch (140 cm), these TVs feature ThinQ AI which engages with consumers in a two-way conversation and enables the consumers to use the Smart TV through their mobile. With this technology, users can access the built-in Alexa and manage the device with voice commands. They can also browse their favourite OTT apps with voice commands.

The TVs come bundled with an intuitive ‘Magic remote’ with a dedicated hotkey for Netflix and Prime video.  These TVs are packed in 400nits of peak brightness, 4K Quantum Lucent and 1.07 billion colours. They come with low-frame rate content and MEMC @60HZ. This, coupled with Future-Ready Technology and ALLM (Automatic Low Latency Mode), gives less than 5 ms input lag.
