BlackShark 2 from gaming focused smartphone brand Blackshark was announced for the Indian market on Monday. The first device was released last year in China but wasn’t made available in India making this their official debut in the country.
Blackshark 2 is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, Adreno 640 GPU paired with dual-channel 6/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB UFS 2.1 storage. It features a 6.39″ FHD+ AMOLED display having 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 403ppi. The screen is equipped with Eye Protection Mode for helping reduce eye strain and Intelligent motion compensation that cuts down on motion trails. Coming to the camera setup, on the front is a 20MP selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture and the rear holds a dual camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor with f/1.75 and a secondary 12MP lens with f/2.2 . The battery tops out at 4000mAh supporting fast charging technology in the form of Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 but the bundled charger is the older 3.0 version.
As it has been specifically built for gaming, certain enhancements have been made to make the experience for gamers better. Liquid Cooling 3.0 has been designed to increase heat dissipation by 20 times that has 6 components working efficiently to achieve this. The X+2 antenna design works regardless of the way Blackshark 2 has been held so that the WiFi signal doesn’t fluctuate. A special Ludicrous Mode makes the CPU run at 100% so that there are no framerate drops while playing. The device is also Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming approved. The gaming controllers were shown (below) at the event but they will not be included in the package and no pricing or release date was mentioned for them.
Available in 2 colour variants of Frozen Silver and Shadow Black, BlackShark 2 in India is priced at Rs.39,999 for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model and Rs.49,999 for the 12GB RAM+256GB variant. It will be sold exclusively on Flipkart from 4 June.
