BenQ is betting big on 4K projectors, going by this week’s announcement. The company expanded its CineHome Series and CinePro Series with the new W1700 and W11000H respectively.
The W1700 is targeted towards home users with its compact design and native 4K playback that delivers up 8.3m pixels. The projector is equipped with the new DLP 4K DMD chip and comes with HDR10 support. Moreover, the projector supports BenQ’s CinematicColor technology, RGBRGB colour wheel for accurate colour reproduction. The W1700 sells in India for ₹2.25 lakhs and two-year on-site warranty.
The W11000H is aimed at professional customers that brings in similar features as the W1700 like native 4K playback, HDR10 support along with BenQ’s CinematicColor technology, RGBRGB colour wheel and is pre-calibrated by THX engineers for “accurate out-of-box picture quality with precise gamma, ideal color temperature, enhanced uniformity, and astounding 50,000:1 dynamic contrast.” The W11000H is also ISFccc calibration ready.
The W11000H will replace the W11000 that BenQ released last year and will sell for ₹4.5 lakhs.
