Gionee unleashed the latest A1 (picture above) and A1 Plus smartphones in the A series at the ongoing MWC. The devices are focused on delivering enhanced selfies and better battery life.
The A series will remain the company’s core product line till the end of June 2017 focusing on front camera performance. The A1 Plus features a high powered selfie camera with a customised flash said to spread light evenly and softly on faces. Gionee’s independent facial enhancement algorithm automatically detects faces and applies custom beauty settings. Also included is a bokeh selfie mode allowing users to blur backgrounds with artistic bokeh effects.
In addition to the large batteries in both devices, dual charging chips and 18w ultra-fast charge are able to fully charge the battery in 2 hours according to lab tests conducted by the company. Additionally, a tailor-made charger kit has been developed for the A series. For audio, Waves MaxxAudio processing enhances the audio output from the stereo speaker system.
