Smartron tphone P features 5000mAh battery, affordable price tag

Despite being in the smartphone market for a few years now, Smartron has failed to attract consumer’s attention. Things, however, are looking up for the young Indian company with the newly announced tphone P. It’s good-looking, comes with a mammoth battery and is aggressively priced.

The phone will go on sale on Flipkart and at an asking price of Rs. 7,999, you get a full metal body and a 5000mAh battery that will go on for up to 2 days on a single charge. tphone P runs Android Nougat out of the box and is powered by Snapdragon 435 and 3GB RAM. It also comes with 32GB of internal storage and 1000GB of tcloud storage.

Additionally, The phone features a 5.2-inch HD display, dual SIM with VoLTE support, reverse charging support, fingerprint scanner, 13MP main camera and 5MP front-facing camera.

The tphone P will sell from January 17.

Smartron launches Tphone

IoT startup Smartron has unveiled its first smartphone called the tphone at an event in the country. The dual-SIM Android Marshmallow device runs on the tronx UI, which gives access to services like t.cloud, t.care and t.store. The t.cloud lets tphone owners store unlimited data on the web.

The screen of the tphone uses Apical Assertive Display technology, leading to better sunlight readability. The rear camera comes with an Isocell sensor and the front camera offers a 2µm pixel size for improved low light performance.

Priced at Rs 22,999, the smartphone will be sold exclusively via Gadgets 360 from June. However, a user needs to register before being able to purchase the device. Registration is open for a limited period only.

Smartron announce a range of connected devices

At an event held in New Delhi today, Smartron announced the existence of their smart devices and the Tron-Xperience. The Tron-X will integrate all the devices, software, cloud, crowd, hub, services and care platforms through Hubtron which is governed by an intelligent AI.

The company have started off their product range with the T-Book and a 5.5″ Android based T-Phone. Sachin Tendulkar, the brand ambassador took to the stage to reveal the unified look of the devices.

The T-book is priced at Rs. 39,999 and will be sold exclusively on the Gadgets 360 portal from 8 April, 2016. The price and complete specifications of the T-Phone will be revealed on April 18, 2016.

Smartron India gains major investor

Retired cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has invested in IoT startup company Smartron and also became it’s brand ambassador recently. The company began operations in India since August 2014 while keeping a low profile.

Smartron will be launching a range of smart devices aimed at both consumer and enterprise segments by the end of the year. The company is headed by Mahesh Lingareddy who is also the co-founder and CEO of Soft Machines Inc, a United States based semiconductor company operating in India, Russia and USA.

Smartron has R&D centres located in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. It is focusing on developing products in the fields of AI, cloud tech, smart sensors and robotics.
