PS4 Pro, PS4 Slim releasing this month in India, PS VR in March

Sony today announced their new gaming consoles and virtual reality accessory for the Indian market. The PS4 Pro and the PS4 Slim will start selling in India starting this month for Rs. 38,990 and Rs. 27,990 respectively. For the uninitiated, PS4 Pro is the powerful sibling of the PS4 Slim that supports 4K gaming whereas the slim variant is power efficient and as powerful as the original PS4. PS4 Pro integrates 1TB of storage while the PS4 Slim has 500GB.

The PS VR on the other hand is a compatible accessory for all the PS4s that will make gaming more immersive. Sony expects there will be up to 50 titles by end of this year supporting PS VR. PS VR will sell with the camera bundle for Rs. 41,990 and without the camera bundle for Rs. 37,990.

Some of the exclusive titles include Batman: Arkham VR, DRIVECLUB VR, PlayStation VR WORLDS and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood.

Rockstar games announce Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar games confirmed the development of the follow-up to the hit 2010 western sandbox by releasing a teaser trailer for the game. The game is set to take full advantage of current gen consoles and will no doubt harness the extra processing power of upcoming incremental console upgrades (Xbox Scorpio, Playstation 4 Pro).

Not much is known in terms of story but the developer has mentioned the game “is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland”. But the change of the logo on all of Rockstar’s social media pages on October 17 hints at what could be expected. In the late 1800s, the Texas Rangers were formed on that very day protecting their namesake from invaders and hostiles.

The open game world is also said to provide the foundation for a new online multiplayer experience. The trademark of Red Dead Online hints at an experience similar to Grand Theft Auto Online.

Red Dead Redemption will be releasing in Fall 2017 for Xbox One and PS4. No word on a PC release yet.
