Nikon has launched new and improved additions to the Z series of mirrorless cameras. Set to launch this November and December, respectively, the Nikon Z 6II and the Z 7II are the new iterations of the relatively-new Nikon Z6 and Z7, which were also Nikon’s first offerings in the premium mirrorless range of cameras. The Z 6II and the Z 7II – both of which are FX-format (full-frame) cameras – come with a range of improvements in processing power, speed, storage, photo and video capabilities.
Starting with the Nikon Z 6II, it offers good number of options for imaging and videos. Users will be able to capture full-frame 4K UHD or Full HD in both FX- and DX-based movie formats, either in 8-bit, 10-bit N-log or HDR, or a 12-bit raw video output, which enables better editing and colour correction capabilities.
The Z 6II is powered by the dual EXPEED 6 image-processing engine. The upgraded mirrorless camera can shoot up to 14 frames per second with AF and AE tracking. The mechanical shutter speed ranges from 1/8000 sec to 900 sec and Nikon assures the users that they should ‘rest easy knowing you will not miss the action or having to worry about the rolling shutter effect”. Supporting dual card slots, the Z 6II is compatible with CFexpress (Type B), XQD or SD (UHS-II) cards.
The Z 6II also boasts eye-detection, animal-detection, auto-area, wide-area AF technologies. Low-light AF is also significantly better as the camera focuses until a range of -6 EV as well. The 705g camera features a 3690k-dot Quad-VGA EVF.
The Nikon Z 6II will be available from November 5, 2020 for a price of Rs. 1,64,995 (body only) and Rs. 2,09,995 (with the Z 24-70mm F/4 S lens).
The Nikon Z 7II, on the other hand, enables users to capture 4K videos at 60p and 10-bit N-log or the optional 12-bit raw output. Compatible with the excellent range of Z-mount lenses, the Nikon Z 7II is also powered by the dual EXPEED 6 image-processing engines, with low-light AF going up to -4EV.
The Z II can capture a blistering 77 shots with a single burst and supports continuous shooting of up to 10fps through the ‘Continuous H+’ setting. The Z 7II offers similar storage capacities and compatibilities of the Z 6II and has the same AF-technologies in place as well.
The Nikon Z 7II will be available from December 10, 2020 for a price of Rs. 2,49,995 (body only) and Rs. 2,94,995 (with the Z 24-70mm F/4 S lens).
