Shortly after Apple CEO Tim Cook arrived in India on his first visit, the company announced a new initiative to support engineering talent and stimulate growth India’s iOS developer community. The company will establish a design and development accelerator in Bengaluru, providing specialised support to iOS app developers.
The facility will provide guidance on Apple’s programming language Swift, and Apple experts will lead weekly briefings as well as provide one-on-one app reviews for developers. The iOS App Design and Development Accelerator is expected to open in early 2017.
The company is also opening a new office in Hyderabad, which will be focused on the development of maps for Apple iOS products. Maps has been constantly getting updated with new features like 3D views and transit.
