Ricoh India has unveiled their spherical camera, the Ricoh Theta SC which is based on their earlier Theta camera. The 360 degree camera is a standard model providing basic features suitable for novices.
It is able to capture 360 degree fully spherical videos at full HD quality (1920×1080) at 30FPS which can be recorded for a maximum duration of 5 minutes. It can capture an image in just 1.5 seconds after it is powered on. 360 degree images from the Theta SC can easily be transferred to smartphones and tablets. It is also compatible with Google Street View app allowing users to capture and publish photo spheres instantly. Their images can also be uploaded to www.theta360.com, a dedicated website created for sharing user videos or directly share on social networking websites.
It is equipped with an LED indicator on its front panel to designate the current mode and a mode switching button (still image/video) on the side panel. The device measures 45.2×130.6×22.9mm and weighs 102 grams which makes it comparatively lighter than a compact camera. It is available in 4 colours – Blue, Beige, Pink and White.
The Ricoh Theta SC costs Rs.25,995 and will be available from 16 November, 2016.
