Ubisoft is celebrating 30 years of existence in the video games industry by offering one free game every month until the end of the year. Their first game Zombi was was a first person arcade adventure published by the then called Ubisoft Entertainment Software.
The first game to be offered in June is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The 2003 reboot to the original game released in 1989 was co-developed with the original creator of the series, Jordan Mechner. The game is credited as singlehandedly reviving the third person puzzle platformer genre and cited as one of the best games to be developed by Ubisoft. It tells the story of the nameless Prince who unwittingly unleashes the Sands of Time and takes it upon himself to undo it all.
To be eligible for this offer a user needs to register or already be a member of the Ubisoft Club. Then to download the game, the Uplay client is required. Do note that this game and upcoming ones are only on the PC platform.
The next free game has yet to be announced but will be available next month in July.
