HMD Global launched their latest line-up of smartphones at an event in the capital today. They include Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco which were unveiled at MWC 2018 recently. They join Nokia 1 which is the first Android Go smartphone from the company.
Nokia 6 improves upon its predecessor by featuring a more compact and durable body made from a solid block of 6000 series aluminium with an 11 hour two tone anodising and polishing process. The 2.5D display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. It is also over 60% faster than the 2017 Nokia 6 iteration.
Nokia 7 Plus features an 18:9 Full HD+ display and a dual camera setup at the rear. It is said to deliver great performance in both low light and extra bright conditions owing to the 12MP wide angle lens while the secondary 13MP camera helps provide 2x optical zoom. The device touts a 2 day battery life with the company boasting it as the ideal device for online content creators.
Nokia 8 Sirocco brings forth a completely new design with a curved glass finish and a stainless steel frame that is 2.5 times stronger than 6000 series aluminium. The edge to edge pOLED 2k display is protected by 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Just 2mm thin at the edge, it has been balanced to provide an improved grip thanks to the diamond polished stainless steel frame. Interestingly, it is IP67 rated and supports wireless charging. All the devices feature enhanced Dual Sight, ZEISS optics, USB-C fast charging and Nokia spatial audio.
Nokia 8 Sirocco (Rs.49,999) and Nokia 7 Plus (Rs.25,999) can be pre-booked starting from 20 April, 2018 from Nokia phones shop, Flipkart and select retail outlets having an on-shelf date of 30 April, 2018. Nokia 6 (Rs.16,999) will be purchasable from 6 April 2018.
