Headphone Zone and KZ Thunder Teams Up

Headphone Zone, announced the launch of the Headphone Zone X KZ Thunder, a co-branded hybrid in-ear monitor designed entirely from scratch at a retail price of Rs. 1,999.

Unlike previous collaborations between the two companies, which involved modifying existing KZ models with different tuning or colourways, the Thunder was developed as a new product from the ground up. The IEM features a new faceplate design, a new driver configuration, a new crossover circuit, and a new PCB, none of which exist in any other KZ model.

“I’ve been selling KZ IEMs for many years at Headphone Zone. We’ve shipped millions of them across India,” said Raghav Somani, Founder and CEO of Headphone Zone. “But every collaboration until now was based on something that already existed. The Thunder is the first time we’ve built something completely new together. It’s the KZ IEM I’m most proud of.”

The Thunder uses a hybrid driver setup pairing a 10mm dynamic driver with a balanced armature driver, a configuration typically found at higher price points. The sound signature is V-shaped, designed for high-energy music genres including rock, metal, EDM, and layered Bollywood productions.

The IEM is available in two variants. The 3.5mm edition is designed for use with portable DACs and dedicated audio sources. The Type-C edition includes a built-in DAC in the cable for direct connection to smartphones and laptops without additional accessories. Both variants include an inline microphone.

The Thunder features transparent resin shells with gold-highlighted internals and black faceplates with an intricate modern pattern created exclusively for this model.

Priced at Rs. 1,999, the Headphone Zone X KZ Thunder is available for purchase now at headphonezone.in

Everything You Need To Know About the Headphone Zone x KZ Thunder:

  • Tuned for Music That Hits Hard
The Thunder was built for tracks with energy. Rock, metal, EDM, layered Bollywood productions where a dozen instruments fight for space. Every layer stays distinct without losing the intensity that makes these genres exciting.

  • A V-Shaped Sound Signature, and Proud of It
The Thunder doesn’t pretend to be neutral. The bass has real texture: attack, rumble, sustain. The treble sparkles without tipping into harshness. It’s the kind of tuning that makes you turn the volume up because you want to, not because you need to.

  • Why Headphone Zone Put Its Name on This
At Headphone Zone, the logo on a product means the team has listened to it, believed in it, and chosen to stand behind it. The Thunder represents what happens when curation meets accessibility: a genuinely engaging listening experience at Rs. 1,999. Because the choice to care about how your music sounds is the same statement at any price point.

  • Your First Real IEM, or Your Favourite Daily Driver
For someone wondering what the fuss about IEMs is all about, the Thunder is the answer. For someone already deep into the hobby who wants something fun and energetic for the commute or gym, it fills that role without feeling like a compromise.

  • Dual-Driver Hybrid Configuration
A 10mm dynamic driver handles bass and weight. A balanced armature delivers fast, detailed highs. Each driver has a job, and together they produce a sound more refined than the price suggests.

  • Ergonomic Shell Built from Scratch
The shell was designed around the natural contour of the ear canal and outer ear. It sits flush, seals naturally, and eliminates pressure points. The result is one of the most comfortable fits KZ has produced.

  • Two Variants for Two Setups
The 3.5mm variant is made for listeners using a dedicated DAC, like the Headphone Zone X ddHiFi Hi-Res DAC. The Type-C variant has a built-in DAC in the cable for direct connection to smartphones and laptops. No adapters needed.

  • Inline Microphone and One-Touch Controls
Both variants include an inline microphone tuned for clean voice pickup, with a single-button remote for managing playback and calls without reaching for your phone.
  • Modular 0.78mm 2-Pin Cable
The cable connects via a standard 2-pin connector, so it can be replaced, upgraded to balanced, or swapped for a Bluetooth module. The Thunder is built to grow with the listener, not get discarded when needs change.

  • Built to Look the Part
Black faceplates with detailed modern accents. Transparent resin shells showing gold-highlighted internals. The build quality makes one thing clear: this is a serious piece of audio gear, not a budget product trying to hide what it costs.
