HTC announced the release date and price of the U Ultra (pictured above) and U Play for the Indian market today. Both the devices are targeting the higher end smartphone market in India.
The company has made a departure from the all-metal design and gone with liquid design curved glass construction using both glass and metal. A major highlight of the U series is the inclusion of HTC Sense Companion, an AI based system that observes user behaviour and their daily patterns over time to provide recommendations and deliver an experience unique to them.
Audio has been boosted with the incorporation of U Sonic technology that analyses the shape of the user’s inner ears with a sonar like pulse to supposedly deliver music in the best possible way. For the loudspeakers, HTC Boomsound has been used which support Hi-Fi playback. The HTC U Ultra also comes with a secondary two inch display to display notifications unobtrusively from the main screen.
Priced at Rs.59,999, the HTC U Ultra will be sold from 6 March, 2017 while the U Play will start selling from mid-march at Rs.39,999. Both devices will be available online as well as offline.
