Huawei launched the P30 Pro and P30 lite at an event in the capital today following the official unveiling in Paris last month. However, there was no mention of the P30 and whether it will be sold in India.
The flagship P30 Pro features a 6.47″ curved OLED with 19:5:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 HDR display and high contrast ratio. The symmetric ultra small notch and thin bezels at the sides contribute towards maximum screen real estate. The quad camera setup on the rear is the main highlight of the device that consists of a 40MP primary SuperSpectrum sensor with wide angle lens, f/1.6 aperture, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), 20MP ultrawide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 8MP telephoto lens with f/3.4 aperture, OIS and a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor. It is the world’s first smartphone to use a RYYB sensor that allows for 40% more light intake than the traditional RGB sensor. A interesting feature is Dual-View video that allows users to shoot wide-angle and close-up views at the same time. Further, PDAF (Phase Detection AutoFocus), laser autofocus, contrast based autofocus and AI-based stabilisation along with 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom and 50x digital zoom are present. An in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security has been used. The storage can be expanded via Huawei’s Nano memory card upto 256GB in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. The battery supports 15W wireless quick charge and wired 40W SuperCharge. Like the Mate 20 Pro, it also comes with reverse wireless charging and IP68 rating.
Moving to P30 Lite, it comes with a 6.15″ IPS display with 19.3:9 aspect ratio running on Kirin 710 SoC. On the rear is a triple camera setup comprising of a 24MP primary sensor with a wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP secondary sensor with ultrawide angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Right next to it is the physical fingerprint sensor. The notch on the front houses a 32MP selfie snapper touting Super Night Selfie Mode for better low light selfies. It runs on EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0 coming with GPU turbo technology.
Priced at Rs.71,990, P30 Pro will be sold on Amazin India for Prime customers from 12am on 15 April. As a launch offer, the Huawei Watch GT worth Rs.15,990 can be purchased for just Rs.2,000. P20 lite will be available in two variants of 4GB RAM+128 GB and 6GB RAM+128 GB priced at Rs.19,990 and Rs.22,990 respectively.
