Lenovo launches the compact K6 Power

Lenovo released the K6 Power today in the country which replaces the older K5 Note series. First revealed at IFA 2016, the 4G-LTE device makes use of Dolby Atmos powered audio like all Lenovo devices.

The K6 Power is built with a metal unibody design. The rear camera uses a Sony IMX258 sensor and is further enhanced by LED flash, PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and video recording at 1080p. The front camera makes use of the popular wide angle lens to take group selfies. Just below the camera on the rear is the fingerprint scanner said to have a low false rejection rate.

Lenovo claims that the battery can run for an entire day under heavy usage while it can last upto 13 days in standby mode. The company has also used Pure UI which is basically near-stock Android with a few added enhancements.

Priced at Rs.9,999, the Lenovo K6 Power will be sold exclusively on Flipkart from 6 December starting 12 noon.

The latest phablet from Lenovo is the Phab 2 Plus

Lenovo launched the PHAB2 Plus in India recently, nearly a year after the PHAB1 was released. Interestingly, the phablet uses a smaller 6.4″ screen in comparison to the 6.8″ screen of its predecessor.

The device sports a dual camera setup at the rear. The two cameras make use of Fujitsu Milbeaut ISP and feature f/2.0 aperture, Laser AutoFocus, dual LED flash and Phase Detection AutoFocus. As is the norm, one camera is dedicated to capturing an image while the other is used to measure depth. After snapping an image, users can change the background or even change the focus using a slider that provides a bokeh effect.

Just under the dual-camera setup lies the fingerprint scanner. The screen makes use of 2.5D curved glass for display. Lenovo mainstays Dolby ATMOS audio and Dolby Audio Capture 5.1 also make a return.

The PHAB2 Plus is priced at Rs.14,999 and sold exclusively on Amazon India. The Google Tango variant is expected to launch next month in India.

Lenovo Phab2 Pro goes on sale abroad

First revealed back in MWC 2016, the world’s first Tango smartphone is now available for sale abroad. The device was originally meant to go on sale in August but numerous delays finally pushed the release date to 1 November.

It is the first commercially available device from the Project Tango stable which focuses on Augmented Reality (AR) apps. 35 AR apps are already available in the Google Play store which have been built specially for the device. These include apps to paint and draw on any surface, playing with virtual pets, Domino world game, home item measurement and item visualiser. Lenovo hopes to populate the store with atleast 100 apps by the end of the year.

The Phab2 Pro is equipped with a depth-sensing IR camera and motion tracking camera. The speakers sport Dolby Atmos audio technology along with Dolby Audio 5.1 surround capture technology capable of recording 3D sound. The battery is slated to deliver 15 hours of battery life.

Lenovo Phab2 Pro is available in the USA for 499$. It is speculated to hit Indian shores by the end of the year.

Lenovo unveils wide range of laptops

Lenovo has launched a new range of consumer laptops hoping to grab the Indian market this festive season. The models include ideapad 510s, 710s, 310, 510, Miix 310, Yoga 510 and 710.

The affordable and light Miix 310 (Rs.17,490) weighs just 580 grams offering users the choice of a 2-in-1 detachable FullHD display, 64GB eMMC storage and 4GB RAM.

The touchscreen enabled ideapad 310 (Rs.28,390) comes with a FullHD screen, powered by a 7th Gen Intel CPU and dedicated Nvidia graphics. It is available in black, silver, red and purple colours. The Yoga 510 (Rs.40,990) has a stylish design and supports fast charging.

The ideapad 510s (Rs.51,090) is a thin and light device enabling on-the-go productivity and entertainment experience enhanced by the Harman Kardon audio system. The ideapad 510 (Rs.61,690) is a multimedia entertainment system packing in Harman Kardon audio, 7th gen intel processor, FullHD IPS display and 4GB Nvidia graphics.

The ideapad 710s (Rs.73,390) is suitable for users looking for power packed in a small form factor. It has a 13.3″ FullHD IPS panel and a solid state drive. Lenovo Z2 Plus goes on sale in India

Lenovo recently launched the Z2 Plus in India which is a rebranding of the Zuk series. The Zuk Z2 was originally launched in China back in May and was available in 2 variants – Z2 and Z2 Pro. However, Lenovo has only released the Z2 in India with a few tweaks and additions.

At first it might seem to use stock Android but it is actually the Google Now launcher hiding atop the Lenovo ZUI 2.0 skin based on Android Marshmallow. U-health is a dedicated app to track all fitness activities. It measures steps, distance and calories with the help of the dedicated Pedometer, Gyroscope, Accelerometer and sensor processing unit. It has basically been designed so that users do not need an additional smartband.

U-Touch is the multi-functional home button in the Z2 Plus. It works as a fingerprint sensor, capacitive sensor and a physical button. It enables users to program 7 different gestures and shortcuts into it.

The internal components of the Z2 Plus are reinforced with an alloy rollcage adding structural integrity to the device and also helping with thermal management. Eschewing plastic and metal, the device uses a Fiber glass frame which is said to add durability.

Priced at Rs.17,999 for 3+32GB and Rs. 19,999 for 4+64GB, the Z2 is exclusively available on Amazon India starting from today with various launch offers available for a limited period.
