Apple has announced their annual iPhone event and it takes place on September 9. The event will happen at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco and though Apple does not give any hint on the upcoming event, the copy text asks for a hint to Siri.
According to rumours, Apple will announce the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus with upgraded 12 megapixel camera, 4K video recording support and most likely force-touch support.

Apple is set to release two new premium smartphones next month – the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. But rumours suggest we’ll see a third phone at the launch, in the form of the iPhone 6C.
Apple upped the ante last year by launching a 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch phone, leaving the days of the 4-inch screen behind.
According to Twitter leaker Evan Blass, the 4-inch phone will make a comeback with the new handsets on the rumoured September 9 launch date.
We don't know anything about possible features, though we hope TouchID makes an appearance and that larger storage sizes are included this time round. 8GB just isn’t good enough.
The launch event plans have been teased by claimed insider sources speaking with BuzzFeed. They say the annual autumn event will take place on September 9, and be the platform for the much-rumoured iPhone 6S and a larger iPhone 6S Plus.
The smartphone duo won’t be alone though. Like we heard last week, the report says the next-gen Apple TV will make its debut and maybe, just maybe, the 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
We’re also expecting Apple to present iOS 9 and Mac OS X El Capitan to the world and rolling them out to users shortly after the event. While Apple hasn’t yet confirmed the date, September 9 fits the bill judging by past launch cycles.
The iPhone 6S has been the subject of multiple leaks in recent weeks, with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge rivalling smartphone tipped to flaunt the same uber-svelte design as the iPhone 6, but new components are expected to be added, including an improved camera, a faster processor and a new Force Touch display.

MacRumors reports that an analyst from KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent participant when it comes to the Apple grapevine (so to speak), has said that new iMacs will arrive in the third quarter (i.e. next month).
These models will have Intel processors with more grunt (unsurprisingly), and moreover a higher quality display with better colour saturation.
Ming-Chi Kuo said: “We believe Apple will introduce new iMac models in 3Q15, which are expected to have key selling points such as more powerful processors and much better display quality. We predict the panel will use a LED phosphor material called KSF to notably boost colour saturation.”
So not only can we expect more striking colours, but also a “much better” quality all round – and let’s face it, Apple’s displays are no slouch as it is, so it’s pretty exciting to think about what sort of screen might grace these new iMac models.
Also, this has prompted further whispers of a Retina Display-toting 21.5-inch iMac, but the analyst had nothing to say on that matter. That would certainly be a crowd pleasing move, as would a boost from the not-so-speedy 5400RPM hard drives which currently nestle in the base configuration iMac models.
However, all possible upgrades have to be balanced against the price, naturally. The iMac range currently starts at £899, which nets you a 21.5-inch model with a 1.4GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, and a 500GB hard drive (of the aforementioned 5400RPM variety).
In Apple’s recent earnings report, while revenue was largely driven by the iPhone (as ever), the company also noted that it hit record sales of Mac computers for the third quarter – and Cupertino will be hoping to build on that.

Apple has lumped the Watch into the ‘other’ category which includes the iPod, Beats and Apple TV – which is about a much use to everyone as a chocolate teapot.
What Apple did tell us is that sales in the ‘other’ category were up 56%. Now, that isn’t really hard considering the category compromises of several different devices, and the Watch is an entirely new device. The general consensus is that Apple has shifted between 2.5 million and 3 million Apple Watch’s, which if you compare to the iPhone is a small speck of the tech giant’s total sales.
According to the BBC, Apple chiefs said: “We made a decision back in September not to disclose the shipments of the watch.” They went on to say “It was not a matter of being transparent it was a matter of not giving your competition insight on a product we’ve worked hard on."
Whether that’s the case, or whether Apple is hiding low sale figures to avoid people loosing confidence is another matter.
Apple sold 47.5 million iPhone units in the past 3 months, which is up 35 per cent this time last year. Again this is not surprising as the iPhone 6 – released last September – was the most popular iPhone to date, replacing the lacklustre 5S.
Unfortunately for Apple, sales of the iPad are down for the 6th consecutive quarter. This could be due to the iPhone 6 Plus stealing the limelight with its whopping screen, but it's also a statement on the tablet market. Those who want have already got one. And once people have one, they're happy with it for a long while.
