With manufacturers doing away with microSD card slots in mobile devices, there’s a growing demand for external devices like OTG and wireless streaming drives. While OTG solutions don’t necessarily work with iPhone (SanDisk’s iXpand is an exception), wireless USB drives are the only solution for Android and iOS platform compatibility, which is why SanDisk has come up with Connect Wireless Stick.
It looks like a regular USB flash drive but integrates Wi-Fi 802.11n chip inside its compact form factor. SanDisk banks on the drive’s affordability and comes in capacities ranging from 16GB to 128GB.
The drive allows to stream music, video and images stored on the flash drive directly onto the Android and the iOS device through the app and even allows to copy the content to the mobile device or backup from mobile.
As for other features, the Connect Wireless Stick has a battery life of up to 4.5 hours in a single charge and can stream Full HD video or 720p videos to three different devices at the same time.
The base version of the Connect Wireless Stick is priced at Rs. 2,790 and goes up to 9,490.
