Sony unveils array of storage cards

Sony recently launched the latest range of XQD and SD storage cards along with the world’s first dual XQD/SD card reader. The XQD cards are meant for professional cameras like the Nikon D5 or D500 that are able to support the storage format.

Sony reports that the card reader can backup 64GB of data in around 3 minutes. The XQD series delivers transfer speeds of upto 440MB/s (read) and 150MB/s (write) while the SF cards have a transfer speed of upto 260MB/s (read) and 100MB/s (write).

The XQD cards have the following price:
XQD-M32/J SYM (32GB) – Rs. 3,500
XQD-M64/J SYM (64GB) – Rs. 6,700
XQD-M128/J SYM (128GB) – Rs. 14,500

The XQD Adapter (XQD-SB1/J SYM) is priced at Rs. 1,490 while the XQD/SD card reader (MRW-E90) is TBD.

The price of the SD cards is as follows:
SF-M (32GB) – Rs 4,795
SF-M (64 GB) – Rs 7,215
SF-M (128 GB) – Rs 11,545

The cards and accessories will go on sale in India from 20 March, 2016.
