Moto 360 Sport comes to town for fitness enthusiasts

Motorola has made its Moto 360 Sport smartwatch official for India. The latest wearable is now available on Flipkart for Rs 19,999. As the name implies, the watch is inclined towards consumers who have an active lifestyle and comes with strong silicone construction that keeps the watch and the band safe from sweat, fading or staining.

The variant now comes with a built-in GPS that allows the user to track the runs and cycle rides without having to take the phone to track the movements. It also has a heart-rate sensor that monitors the heart rate during an exercise.

Like the previous Moto 360, the sport version also runs Android Wear and comes with a 1.37-inch AnyLight Display that adjusts to natural light, Snapdragon 400 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 4GB internal memory with 512MB RAM, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and 300mAh battery.

The smartwatch is also IP67 certified that makes it resistant from dust and water.

CREO reveals Mark 1 reveals spare parts’ prices

In a bid to maintain transparency, CREO has announced prices of the components for its Mark 1 device, so that a user does not feel he’s being fleeced with different component prices. CREO says customers will be able to find the price of the components same across its 106 service centers in India. This price, however, excludes the tax and labour cost that is capped at Rs 300/item.

CREO plans to expand the total number of service centers to 300 in the near future.

CREO’s Mark 1 recently went on sale on Flipkart. Running proprietary Android-based OS – FUEL OS, Mark 1 is a dual-SIM smartphone with a 21MP rear auto focus camera and 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

The company is also offering two complimentary phone cases for every new user buying the phone from its website.

Hotstar goes premium with HBO Original shows

Hotstar, Star India’s video-streaming platform, has launched its monthly subscription service called Hotstar Premium.

The premium membership offers original content from HBO and brings in at a recurring monthly cost of Rs 199. Another good part of the service is the content that is offered is completely uncensored, unlike the censors that apply to shows before airing it on a television channel. Some of the shows include Game Of Thrones, Veep, Silicon Valley and Banshee.

Alongside the premium offering, users will still be able to enjoy free content from Star channels and IPL.

Hotstar

Play Store apps will run on Chromebook soon

Looks like Chrome users will get access to plethora of apps on the Google Play Store. This hidden feature was noticed by a Reddit user who claimed that a checkbox appeared to “Enable android apps” on the Chromebook, disappearing soon after.

This ‘version 51’ of the Chrome OS is still under development but users who have already tried it say it shows a tutorial before it automatically vanishes. We wouldn’t be surprised if Google is keeping this special feature for an announcement at the upcoming I/O conference.

Despite barriers in the past between Android and Chrome OS, the latter will benefit from its sibling as Google Play lists more apps, games, is recognised in more countries and also has better support.
