OnePlus to provide 2 years worth of software updates

OnePlus is putting to rest concerns regarding software updates and have officially announced the OnePlus Software Maintenance Schedule. This finally gives users concrete information regarding the upgrade cycle.

Under this schedule, all OnePlus smartphones will receive 2 years of regular software updates from the date of release. Coming to Android Security patches, they will be provided for 3 years that will be delivered regularly every 2 months. This schedule goes into effect immediately and currently applies to OnePlus 3/3T, 5/5T and 6.

The Open Beta program for OP3 and OP3T will ending this week and enrolled users will get an OTA update to transition them back to the current stable build of OxygenOS. According to the schedule, the final software update for the 2016 released duo will be till November 2018.
