Chinese based Transsion Holdings has launched Camon i, an entry level handset under the Tecno brand. The device is the first from the company to use an edge to edge Infinity display.
Said display has an aspect ratio of 18:9, 1440x720p resolution and comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Coupled with the slimmed down bezels, the screen to body ratio is an impressive 82.1%. The fingerprint sensor on the rear can unlock the device in 0.15s and can also accept calls, provide access to app lock and capture pictures. On the side, the multi slot tray can accomodate two SIM cards and one SD card at the same time.
Onto imaging, both cameras share similar specifications like 13MP sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens. However the front camera has LED flash and screen flash while the rear employs Quad LED flash. It has been optimised for usage in dark environments which is evident from features like Video Chat Flash, soft light and low light Night shot algorith 2.0.
Priced at Rs.8,999, Camon i will be only be sold through offline channels and not be available online.
