Xiaomi has been teasing “Desh ka smartphone” for the last few days and here it is, the Redmi 5A. Targeted at first time smartphone users, the phone promises a decent smartphone experience at a price that starts from Rs. 4,999.
Redmi 5A sports a metallic matte finish with curved edges at the back for one-handed use and features a 5-inch HD display on the front that supports reading mode to cut the blue light, thus helping to reduce eye fatigue. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB or 3GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, dual-SIM support and a dedicated microSD card slot up to 128GB.
On the camera side, the phone has a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front with Smart and Pro beautify. It runs MIUI 9 and comes with 3000mA battery, an IR blaster and a custom charger to handle power surges.
The phone will go on sale from December 7 for Rs. 4,999 for the 2GB+16GB variant and Rs. 6,999 for 3GB+32GB variant.
