Mediatek launched the P25 processor today which focuses on dual camera smartphones. The octa-core System on Chip (SoC) has been built on 16nm fabrication making use of Imagiq, the proprietary Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology from the company.
The P25 features a 12 bit dual ISP offering support for upto 24MP single camera or dual 13MP cameras. It offers Video HDR with live preview, Colour/Mono denoise, real time DoF bokeh effect and high performance auto exposure. It is upto 25% better in power efficiency when compared to the older P10 and P20 processors. Mali-T880 dual GPU powers the graphics and supports LPDDR4X upto 6GB.
Smartphones powered by the new processor will be available globally by the end of March 2017.
